Of course the little guys wouldn't vote to fuck themselves. They would vote for Government Representatives that would take money from the Rich, and give it to them. They would vote to spend indiscriminately into debt.

Same shit we are seeing today.

Well then, as you now confess, it isn't the government's fault. It's the fault of people who would vote for such a government. What you would want is a government controlled by an elite such as yourself who wouldn't allow people the kind of government they want. You will have to find a way to keep them from voting.

The only thing I care about is giving others the advantages I have had.

Namely freedom, and I guess I had money too, but I worked through college.

I sure didn't have to buy burgers made by adolescents with Government Money at $15/hr.

In Zorkorist's preferred reality I bet I could be Furiousa. That would rule.

lol, yeah, all my fault Moonbeam.

-John

The only fault you have is that I simply took what you said and listened to it and thought about what it implied. It was all my fault, I guess, that it led us into nutter land. And of course, the minute you realized where your thinking was headed, you completely sidetracked the issue, like so many other lunatics do who post here, by showing how much you hate yourself via the accusation that I'm out to blame you for the ridiculous illogic of your opinions.

I believe you are a person who wants the best for people but how can you wish that people be free if you don't want them to elect the people they want to elect. You don't hate government, what you hate is the will of the people, that they will fuck up your ideals, the way you want things to be. That, "it's all the government's fault" crap you tell yourself is just that, a bunch of crap.

You are at fault because you can't get past the fact that you want the government that you want, just like everybody else, and when you don't get it you go childish, and blame some 'other' some abstraction, for your misery as you hide your spite behind your good intentions.

On the positive side, even if you or I don't know what it is, a good does exists I believe.

“There’s class warfare, all right,” Mr. Buffett said, “but it’s my class, the rich class, that’s making war, and we’re winning.”

With the 'War on Poverty' being led by millionaire politicians and their billionaire supporters, what could possibly go wrong?

Can anyone name a time where all the rich were knocked from their high towers, their riches freely dispersed to all, and peace and plenty followed? I can't. The reasons for countries being either more or less egalitarian are cultural, government can only provide a partial solution. We have a love-hate relationship with wealth and the wealthy that fuels inequality.

What a sad & worn out trope of "they're just as bad!"

Buffet's sentiments are well known. If we need a financial elite, and I think we do, then we need more people like Buffet & fewer like the Donald at the top of the heap.

The campaign and general propaganda organs of the Right used this same tactic in my local Cornpone Gazette, arguing that "Hillary is rich, therefore just another shill for the rich." There's a difference in earning your bucks from speaking engagements and the other thing she's done. By contrast, Trump and the Koch brothers got an early head-start -- vastly more than the $2 million trust-fund head-start that Bill Gates had.

and that will never ever happen. You can kill the rich and take the money. but all it will do is transfer the wealth to others who will now be rich. YOU will NEVER make everyone equal.

so when you attack the rich all you do is start violence over the money they had.

Ummm, Buffet isn't a beacon of hope for the working class like you may think he is... He buys out companies and cold-heartily lays off workers he deems unnecessary, just like anyone else.

Yes but it only worked because Batman got involved. :hmm:

Therefore I conclude the solution = Batman.

I never said otherwise.

Guess then I'm not sure why you want more people like Buffet.... About the only difference between Buffet and Trump is Buffet doesn't insult you while he takes away your livelihood. I suppose that's better, in a way.

So any viable solutions?

Yeah raise the minimum wage so that a single parent working can afford 3 kids, a spouse, a house, car, electricity, gas, home heating/ cooling, taxes and put a little away in their 401k.

Then watch how the numbers of people on welfare drop into extinction.

First, you watch unemployment rise. Second, you question in bewildered fashion how someone with a spouse is considered a single parent

$15+/hr minimum would be an interesting experiment on a national level. I don't think the results from isolated municipalities will reveal all the outcomes. The problem with trying something like that is that it would be nearly impossible to roll back even if it turns out that there were dire negative repercussions. I can imagine many small businesses closing if the wage increase happened faster than the ability to raise prices to compensate.

So how dire will unemployment increase if the min. wage is increased, and would it be substantially worse than the other times the U.S. has increased min. wage, which in those times never increased unemployment substantially.

So why would this time be any different other than the typical temporary increase in unemployment?

Hey if you want to raise the minimum wage, I could be for it but you have to raise my wage as well. Otherwise, why the fuck did I bother becoming a productive citizen?
