Is there a way to change Office 2013 Volume License to Retail?

Hi guys,

I accidentally installed my company's volume licensed version of Office on my personal machine. It keeps popping up a box saying that I need to activate by connecting to the corporate server or enter an activation key. I've tried entering the retail key, and it looks like it accepts it, but then I get the same warning again the next time I open an office program. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling using the correct dvd, but it seems to keep the volume license info. Does anyone know how to change from volume license to retail or how to completely remove all traces of office so I can install the correct one?

Update: I didn't have a chance to try anything other than the office clean up tool which resulted in no change, but once the count down on the volume license expired, the warning messages went away and it looks like things are working normally.

I have run into an issue where activation will not work if you installed SP2 before activating
So what I had to do was go into an elevated command prompt and run

Code:
cscript ospp.vbs /act

from C: \Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14 or C: \Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14 if on 64-bit windows

If it still does not active, I would uninstall, reboot, run the office clean up tool, reboot again and then install from retail media, you can retry downloading it from ms direct if you still have link or Digital River here.


**Warning** I take no responsibility if you mess up your registry
and if you really want to be sure it is gone, look in the registry under HKEY_LocalMachine_Software_Microsoft and HKEY_LocalMachine_Software_Wow32Node_Microsoft and delete the office keys

As stated you can't go VLK to standard licensing. You have to do a uninstall/reinstall.

More than likely you may be running in a crippled mode. Are you able save and print new documents?

Yup, no problems with either.

I would like to point out that I DID remove the original install and reinstall with the correct retail package, but I continued to get the volume license message until the count down expired.
