Question Is there an alternative to Amd adrenaline?

Finally upgraded to 6700XT but I find Adrenaline quite buggy, often the information overlay is not working or the OC settings are not applied properly after reboot.

Are there any alternatives?

I have never used the overlay, as I run afterburner on my second display. So I can't comment on that.

But any time I make changes to clocks/voltages they have stuck for me.

Are you seeing the setting for manual control getting turned off, or the specific values you are entering do not stick?

MSI Afterburner should have you covered for OC, fan curve, and information overlay. Make sure you download from a safe source (like this or this), some fake domains have popped up with malware infested Afterburner. I was also going to mess around with MorePowerTool but in the end I didn't bother.

One thing to note is that for me Adrenalin works well with 6800XT, OC settings stick and even the overlay was useful in one occasion when the one bundled with Afterburner failed me (I think it was Witcher 3 in DX12). That being said I still think the Adrenalin overlay is unreliable in general, at least based on my past experience with other driver versions and other cards.

Thanks, I didn't know afterburner also works with amd.
Yeah, basically it loads up strange values for oc setting upon boot up, everything at default oc. not the undervolt value i saved and applied.

also in overlay, half the time it gets stuck on desktop value and does not update in game. (RDR2)

I've used afterburner, and its showing me correct numbers without crashing once so far! thanks for the tip.

One more question. If I am going for undervolting, shouldn't power limit be at (-5%)? why do other undervolting people still use (+15%)?

Because undervolting can also be used with overclocking the core frequency and that increases the power draw. Not many GPU chips can achieve this but it's possible on some golden samples.
But generally if you undervolt and leave the clocks at default or underclock will result in less power draw so increasing the power limit is useless.

Undervolting lowers the power consumption per clock. Raising the power budget allows for higher overall power. When you use the two together, you can get better clocks at +15% than you otherwise would without undervolting..

I just wish AMD let us select what portions of Adrenaline we want to install. It used to be so light and clean and functional.

It's such a bloated mess of options and features I will never touch or use.

I just want to get to display settings and oc stuff, the rest of it can take a hike.
