OK, time to make a Anandtech Forums Newbie Kit!
The kit consists of the following info:
[*]Respect the people here just as you would in real life. That's the rule of thumb.
[*]Avoid flame wars, especially discussions between AMD vs. Intel.
[*]Use the search function! Some topics have been beaten to death, such as "Where do you come from?", "How old are you?", "Which is better: ProductA or ProductB", "Wouldn't it be great if AT Forums had ..."
[*]A nef is someone who posts non-related stuff just to rise his post count.
[*]A troll is someone who tries to rip people off (money, website visit, product (dis)information).
[*]The Help button on the top right will tell you how many posts you need to have for a certain status (member, senior member, etc.)
[*]Stick to the appropriate forum. General Hardware is for hardware. Off-topic is for all non-computer related stuff. Check the Home button for the description of each forum.
[*]Some forums have their own rules, such as Hot Deals and For Trade/Sale. Check them before you post.
[*]The moderator are big meanies. But they are doing a wonderful job in maintaining these forums. Stick to the rules, and you'll have a wonderful stay!
