Is there any good free Xbox One games?

Hi.

I have just ordered an Xbox One and I am wondering if there are any good free games that I can get for it. I am not talking about games with gold (already have them) but Xbox Live market place games. I know PS4 has some like Warface and Planetside 2 (I don't know for sure).

So do you guys know of any?

Extra question: I received a $20 online code thingy for use with Xbox live. Which games can I buy with that? I will look up this question but I decided to ask anyway.

Second extra question: How big is the Forza 5 download?

P.S: If you were wondering, I am waiting for Destiny and Halo: MCC so I won't have any games to play on the Xbox which is why I am looking at free games to keep me until they release. I did manage to get a Forza 5 download code for free which is great.

The $20 online code can be used for anything it's a $20 credit.
Forza 5 is 39.83GB
I don't think they offer any free games unless it's the games with gold, you can download some demos tho. Right now on eBay bf4 is $20, Madden is $25, nba 2K14 is $30, ghosts is $20
Microsoft isn't big on giving shit away, they gave away forza 5 download codes because they need help moving units

If you can cancel your order it would probably be wise to do so (assuming you have a 360 or something to tide you over).

With the sales going poorly for XBO even after the $399 SKU, it's almost guaranteed that you'll see a Halo MCC bundle for $399 or $349 (maaaaaaybe $299 but I doubt they can cover the BoM on that).

If you know of some XBO exclusives that you really want to play between now and November, go for it, but it seems like wasted money to me.

$399 + $60 - $460

vs.

$349 bundle = $110 saved (or $60 saved if they just do $399, but I think they will want to juice sales more).

If you're quick, you MIGHT be able to get Halo: Spartan Assault free. It's one of the June Games with Gold, and the July hasn't quite kicked in yet, so you might be able to grab it. Then Guacamelee! will be free once it's put up, and Max: The Curse of Brotherhood will stay free through July. Xbox Fitness is also free until the end of the year or so, if you want something to do for exercise.

With the $20 credit, I recommend Powerstar Golf. It has a free/demo version with only a few holes to play, I think. I got the game and really like it, though.

I do expect a Master Chief bundle probably for the price of the standard console but there's absolutely no way they would lower the price of the console plus offer that game for free. That is easily the most anticipated console game right now of the year and it would sell Xbox Ones even if they didn't offer a bundle of any sort.

Destiny has far FAR more preorders at the moment. If we're talking about Halo 5 it's a different story, but remasters never are the biggest games of the year.

Also : MS discounted Titanfall bundle by $50 off msrp and that wasn't even a Microsoft studio title. Given the xb1 sales this year I'd put odds 90/10 on $399 being MAX price for MCC bundle.

A game called Guacamelee was just added to games for gold for free. It looked kind of stupid but I downloaded it and played it with my friend and we had a blast playing it.

Guacamelee Super Turbo Championship edition. A name that makes fun of Capcom's Street Fighter naming scheme. It's a good game and uses Mexican folktales and such as it's basis. It is in a genre that people call Metroidvania. Kind of like the old Metroid and Castlevania games. You beat up enemies and look for upgrades for your moveset. This game though has little quests and things to do for NPCs in the game. There's some funny references to classic games like Super Mario Bros (There's Luchadore posters with guys that resemble Mario and Luigi), Metroid etc. There isn't a whole lot of story, just a little bit about El Presidente's daughter being kidnapped and you are supposed to save her.

I've played a bit. I like it more than Halo Spartan Assault and it beats the pants off the games I've gotten for free on PS4 except for maybe Resogun IMO.

The quality of the PS4 giveaways this past couple months is kind of weak by comparison (except for strider which unfortunately I already beat on Steam and Trine 2)but to be fair Sony is doing it for three different systems (Vita, PS4, and PS3) so it's costing them a bit more(they pay the developers or publisher of these games to be able to give them out). They say don't look a gift horse in the mouth though. It's a perk of being a member and some of the older giveaway games were pretty good. I feel like the games will eventually end up being some older AAA releases like on PS3 and Vita when the library fattens up. I just think games like Doki-Doki Universe and Don't Starve are a waste of my time. I downloaded them, tried them but found them to lack anything to interest me.

Guacamelee is awesome. I love busting Choozo statues. Lots of 8 and 16-bit game references in the game if you look at backgrounds and talk to NPCs.
