But rather, they like to focus on the Power to weight ratio. How many HP's they can crunch per liter. Just like AMD and Pentium M processors. It's not the L2 cache that makes it amazingly fast, but it's the instructions per clock.

Different culture obviously... those European cars you mention aren't exactly around the same price as a Viper or a Z06. If you want to bring up your FQ 400... that's a specialty vehicle... if you want to go that way you might as well bring along a Dodge Viper ACR. I don't even know why I'm defending domestics here since I'm not a domestic fanboy. I hope you don't mean power/weight = HP/liter... because that's how I read that.

i think he was referring to the fact that European sports cars focus on hp/weight ratio. when he obviously has never looked at the Z06 6.26lbs/HP and ill give you the enzo at 4.57 lbs/Hp

thats a difference, but its also a $600,000 difference if you can find an enzo at MSRP.

Thats a pretty sweat setup but a lil overkill for daily driving. Whats your dynos and timeslips. Car,year, dyno number? I'm not too familar with chevys (stang guy) but damn looks like your packing at least 350 or 396. Your insane if thats a 454 used for daily driving but from the pics it looks like you got plenty of room in your engine bay. But i always enjoy a clean and painted engine bay, nice work

Its a 396 big block@ 427. FYI, 396/427/454 are all the same block.
aluminum heads of course, the intercooled mondoXXX blower running 15lbs of boost. 9 to 1 compression. control the fuel and ignition from a laptop in the car. SFI
it hasnt been ran on the strip (it was recently finished) and hasnt been dyno'd. but it takes a max of 20lbs of boost.. regularly runs 10lbs everyday.
its a '66 chevelle ss. estimated rear wheel horsepower is about 1000HP.. but its built to handle that much regularly (ford 9in. rearend ect.).

its a rednecks car.. only smart guys spend 60grand on a car that is barely worth a fraction of that now and never was worth 60grand.

this car will blow away a 4.6L with 250shot N20, took time to build and a fraction of the cost.
I'd NEVER brag about being dumb enough to spend 60Gs on a car that just simply isnt that great, esp for that price.
but there are plenty of people like that out there... the rest of us (people that have money AND motivation) do it ourselves and gain satisfaction at the same time.

I guess Dell and Alienware have to cater to SOMEONE.. we now know the types!

I can appreciate the fact that you 'seem' to know a lot about your cars but calling someone dumb because they like to buy good things and pay the price for it is rather foolish, some people like doing things on their own and some dont, these are merely preferences, if you fall into 1 category doesnt mean others are 'dumb'

The new 2005 Mustang GT does sound pretty sweet. A guy who works in the next building where I work has one. I heard him drive off down the street this afternoon and it sounded really nice. No mistaking what that car has under the hood.

I still love the Boxer rumble though.

ok here goes.

i would prefer to much rather work on my own car and d everything to it myself. however.

If i lived in a non rural neighborhood, and i did not have my own garage, or equipment i sure as hell am gunna pay someone to do what i would do myself given the time, and place to do it.

There are reasons companies make money. not everyone lives in Bumfvckville no where and has land the size or small neighborhoods. on which they can put a nice 30x30 pull barn with lift and all.

so thats why you take it elsewhere. and IIRC, this is exactly what mill has. is a small town house.

now both of you just STFU PLEASE before i trout slap housecat, and cockslap mill (you know youd like it mill)

Personally, I've always preferred the sound of the Ford 427/8/9 engine from the 427 Cobra, the 428 CobraJet and Boss 429. The 460 was one hell of an engine with a great sound too, but the 460 was a stump-puller and was suited only for trucks really. Outside of that, the 427 Chevy L-88, L-89, and L-71 engines have an amazing sound. Especially when combined with sidepipes on a Mako Shark style Stingray.

Don't know if anyone else has posted this: Mercedes Mclaren SLR. Supercharged V8 putting out 617bhp, find the TopGear video for it, has a beautiful sounding engine.

Chevy Performance Link
The L-88 and ZL-1 sound very similar to the L-71 and the L-89. And the L-71 in my friend's 1968 Mako Shark convertible is as good as any V8 I've ever heard (and I'm a Ford man). Man, those Mako Shark 'Vettes are just plain near perfect. I've always loved them, and I always will.

Thats a nice setup. I like the P600B and have been looking for a good deal on one.. I dont believe thats a self contained unit though.. not that it matters, but I check once in a while for P600B and P1SC deals..

you know some company came up with a really cool turbo unit for fbodys.. I'll have to find the site and post it here

I can vouch for the 4.6. A '03 Cobra with a KB blower and Bassani exhaust setup sounds wicked. Only problem is it is way to small (281ci) but the fact that you can get 700 RWHP out of a pretty much factory 281ci engine is nothing short of amazing. A modern 32V DOHC 351 Cobra would be mine in a heartbeat.

My choice because:

1) 700 HP will smoke just about 99% of what anyone else is driving. Alot of the cars people here are talking about are exceptional (500+ HP, etc), not something that youd expect to see any of of let alone *everyone* driving one. Think what you see everyone else driving, the average person that tries to cut someone else off because they know their car has 10 more HP or something (suvs, cheap 3 series bmws, V6 mustangs and camaros, eclipses, nissans, even the mustang gt's with 260 HP is kinda lame, etc)
That 700 HP Cobra will own them all, and also the occasional viper, porsche, etc. (even though I find people with those kinds of cars are generally older and don't care). So what if there is ONE very exceptional car with 800, 900, or 1000 HP, it's not like 700 HP is something to be embarrased about... It's not like every 16 yr old has a brand new 9000 HP BMW and cuts you off on purpose just to be a spoiled brat and your 700 HP car sucks ...

2) Four seats means you won't be in someone elses car when there are 3 or 4 of you when some punk with 10 measly more HP flies past you making you wish you had your car; whats the point of a fast car if you don't get to drive it? This rules out the Viper, Boxster, Corvette, etc.

3) Personal preference. I like the smooth clean straight lines, particularly of the '03 Cobra, without hood scopes, spoilers, flared rocker panels, etc. of other mustangs. I dislike the darty over aggressive shape of the camaro or firebird, and I dont care for the ghetto 'gold chains' image associated with them. That leaves the mustang... I don't get into the 4.6 vs LS arguments simply because I dont have a problem with the engines; I just don't like the body styles of those cars (the firebird looks like a bar of soap squeezed into an hourglass and like the entire body came out of a single plastic mold)

And I don't really even like mustangs simply because EVERYONE has them and everyone thinks they are special with them..., but the 03/04 Cobra is really another animal all together and if not for it being 390 HP factory and up to 700 HP with about 5 grand in bolt ons, I'd probably be driving a porche right now and getting pissed off the first time a cheaper cobra kicked my @ss

My dad's '58 Delray with a N/A 402 topped with a 4 barrel edlebrock and a cam that is bigger than most import's cranks also sounds mean. Makes the ground quake and my knees tremble, and the smell of spilled gasoline... (_8^(0)~ Ugghhhll......

I have yet to handle a camcorder that can capture that sound at the strip, it's like the lows are completely cut out and you just hear a bunch of rattling tin cans!

The new 2005 Mustang GT sound pretty good for a 4.6. I love the stock sound of the 5.0 in my '95; I just wish it was louder. Not so loud you can hear it two blocks away, but loud enough that when someone is beside me or behind me they think "mmmm that's a sweet sound" as opposed "SONOFAB*** THAT'S ANNOYING." I'm thinking of going with a completely MAC exhaust system (headers+cats+mufflers+pipes).

What I can't stand is those ricer cars that sound like really loud go-karts from two blocks away. I just wanna b***slap them and say "ya know, you could have saved some money and gone with a bullhorn and the sound clip of Jim Carey and Jeff Daniels from Dumb and Dumber."

Or with the money they spend on neon windshield wipers, chrome fart pipes, plastic spoliers and skirts, and blue LEDs, they could have just bought a more expensive, nicer car!

I love ricers. It's funny watching them at a light revving and intimidating each other with their 65 HP super glue powered cars. I like being stuck behind them in traffic at the light and stomping the gas and nearly vibrating all their plastic parts to shlt and watching them both look behind them like "what the F*$* was THAT!?"

It's also fun keeping up with them and riding their @ss and having to tap the brakes in first gear at 1500 RPM while their shlt sounds like its about to blow up!

But I don't have a piece of wax paper wedged in my exhaust to make it sound like a kazoo, nor do I have a tatoo of Akuma, Sephiroth, or Optimus Prime anywhere, so they probably don't think im very 733t...

Don't get a MAC exhaust. Their stuff sucks ass. I had MAC headers on my '94 Mustang GT and they leaked all the time. I must have replaced the gaskets twice on them before I just took them off and bought a pair of Ford Motorsport headers. I also had a pair of Flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers on the car and it sounded great. Not too loud but loud enough.

I don't have that car anymore but I think I still have those crappy headers in a box in my garage. I really need to just toss that sh!t in the trash. Hehehe, I probably still have the weak 2.73 rear gears in my garage as well.

dude see heres your problem.

your saying sh1t without a real reason.

no one is provoking you and your throwing names around like a POS and thats why most ppl are assuming you are a POS.

heres the thing. you are rich enough to have the LAND and TOOLS to do it on, including a garage. he is rich enough to live somewhere WITHOUT the LAND to have a garage on. so he PAYS someone who HAS the LAND with a GARAGE to do it.

there is no real difference other than who put it together.

so shut the FVCK up and be gone already. you are the most immature person in this thread right now.

Just shut up already.

60 grand isn't a lot of money. Why you would even worry about 60 grand, or any amount of money, is beyond me because you can afford a lambo, right?

God, I'm so incredibly sick of weenies like you.

Gee, that's funny, because everyone on LS1.com and The Corral never had a problem with my car - in fact most loved it. Anyway, I'm not going to waste anymore time with you since you can't get my name right, regurgitate the same crap, and the fact that everyone realizes you were owned, so good night my redneck friend.
