Take a look here and here. Any car guy could appreciate that.. if one knew what they were looking at.. but most call from the old school call it a "rat", with a Vortec Mondo XXX.

You may have a great 4.6L stang.. but this is the most extreme a daily driver could get... and it IS driven daily! And I dont mean to burst your bubble, but from what you told me it would prob beat your stang.

Thats a pretty sweat setup but a lil overkill for daily driving. Whats your dynos and timeslips. Car,year, dyno number? I'm not too familar with chevys (stang guy) but damn looks like your packing at least 350 or 396. Your insane if thats a 454 used for daily driving but from the pics it looks like you got plenty of room in your engine bay. But i always enjoy a clean and painted engine bay, nice work

Its a 396 big block@ 427. FYI, 396/427/454 are all the same block.
aluminum heads of course, the intercooled mondoXXX blower running 15lbs of boost. 9 to 1 compression. control the fuel and ignition from a laptop in the car. SFI
it hasnt been ran on the strip (it was recently finished) and hasnt been dyno'd. but it takes a max of 20lbs of boost.. regularly runs 10lbs everyday.
its a '66 chevelle ss. estimated rear wheel horsepower is about 1000HP.. but its built to handle that much regularly (ford 9in. rearend ect.).

its a rednecks car.. only smart guys spend 60grand on a car that is barely worth a fraction of that now and never was worth 60grand.

this car will blow away a 4.6L with 250shot N20, took time to build and a fraction of the cost.
I'd NEVER brag about being dumb enough to spend 60Gs on a car that just simply isnt that great, esp for that price.
but there are plenty of people like that out there... the rest of us (people that have money AND motivation) do it ourselves and gain satisfaction at the same time.

I guess Dell and Alienware have to cater to SOMEONE.. we now know the types!

ok here goes.

i would prefer to much rather work on my own car and d everything to it myself. however.

If i lived in a non rural neighborhood, and i did not have my own garage, or equipment i sure as hell am gunna pay someone to do what i would do myself given the time, and place to do it.

There are reasons companies make money. not everyone lives in Bumfvckville no where and has land the size or small neighborhoods. on which they can put a nice 30x30 pull barn with lift and all.

so thats why you take it elsewhere. and IIRC, this is exactly what mill has. is a small town house.

now both of you just STFU PLEASE before i trout slap housecat, and cockslap mill (you know youd like it mill)

MIKE

Yeah, I used to rent a house before I bought one. Now I have the space to do things, but I don't care about fast cars, hence the reason I'm sort of trying to sell my Mustang. I did, however, manage to drop the tranny at that house. Wasn't really supposed to do car work due to the rental agreement, but oops.

Gee, that's funny, because everyone on LS1.com and The Corral never had a problem with my car - in fact most loved it. Anyway, I'm not going to waste anymore time with you since you can't get my name write, regurgitate the same crap, and the fact that everyone realizes you were owned, so good night my redneck friend.

you cant get write right either though.

Again, you don't seem to understand that it was NOT about having a fast car. If it were I would have gone with the standard older car with a blower. I wanted something new and rare, and that's what I got. The fact that you can't understand that is simply appalling.

How can this arguing go on without knowing the specs on Mills car? I went though this entire thread looking for it, but found nothing. What are the specs? Oh, and I need :camera:'s

I personally like the 454 but my fav is the LS1. My 98 Camaro Z28 LS1 with the Vette 1LE Suspension setup was loud when I got it but now its straight pipe with a Stroker Kit and some other fun changes, at 486HP and open exhaust it sounds like a beast! Nothing beats a car sounding like its under a bridge...without the bridge

Not so loud you can hear it two blocks away, but loud enough that when someone is beside me or behind me they think "mmmm that's a sweet sound" as opposed "SONOFAB*** THAT'S ANNOYING." I'm thinking of going with a completely MAC exhaust system (headers+cats+mufflers+pipes).

What I can't stand is those ricer cars that sound like really loud go-karts from two blocks away. I just wanna b***slap them and say "ya know, you could have saved some money and gone with a bullhorn and the sound clip of Jim Carey and Jeff Daniels from Dumb and Dumber."

Don't get a MAC exhaust. Their stuff sucks ass. I had MAC headers on my '94 Mustang GT and they leaked all the time. I must have replaced the gaskets twice on them before I just took them off and bought a pair of Ford Motorsport headers. I also had a pair of Flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers on the car and it sounded great. Not too loud but loud enough.

I don't have that car anymore but I think I still have those crappy headers in a box in my garage. I really need to just toss that sh!t in the trash. Hehehe, I probably still have the weak 2.73 rear gears in my garage as well.

Oh man, just sh!t on my parade. All the mechanic shops say MAC is some good stuff and their mufflters sound better than the delta40s.

this was back in 1998... they were in the GT2 class. I don't think the Saleen came in until 2001 and on... that's when the Viper, Corvette and the S7 were in the renamed GTS class.

I would go with Borla or Flowmaster for the exhaust but stick with Ford Motorsport headers. They are more expensive than the MAC but it is money well spent since you won't be dicking around with exhaust leaks. Borla makes a nice X pipe and I think they have high flow cats as well.

It's been a while since I've owned Stangs though so there might be others that are decent that I'm overlooking.

This is the sh!t I had on my Mustang. Worst header ever! I think these actually hurt performance over the stock manifolds. When I put the Ford Motorsport headers on I noticed an immediate improvement in throttle response and seat of the pants. They sounded better also.

Edit-JBA, Bassani and BBK were good also IIRC. Just make sure the headers have one flange and that the tubes are not individually flanged. The fit and finish of the Ford Motorsport headers was excellent though. I highly recommend them.

I would also recommend subframe connectors. These make a huge difference in the rigidity of the car. Doesn't need to be anything fancy, I had my muffler guy fabricate a set out of rectangular shaped steel tubing and weld them in. He even painted them red to match the rest of the undercarriage. Cost me under $150 installed.

I have a friend with a hot ferrari.. the exotics dont sound that great. If you like riceburners, you'll like lamborghinis/ferraris for sound.

If you think this sounds anything like a "rice burner" you need your hearing checked.

What he said......... that sounds more like an Indy car.

Hehe I'm running 20 lbs boost at 8.5:1 on a daily driver ... I know there are some people pushing 26+ lbs on the same engine ('03 cobra) without problems...

20 lbs is the limit for me, otherwise its time to buy a bigger engine. Boost can only take you so far...

The brand new M5 is the first with a V10, they have been V8's until now.

Besides, can you actually buy a new M5 yet? (no clue, perhaps you can... Not exactly on my shopping list...)

Some cars can sound just as good as the Mustang, but I agree.. stock for stock the Mustang sounds so badass

I do love the sound of the new 5.7 HEMI... I've heard some RAMs tromping on it a few times and it makes me pee my pants !
