You aren't going to find many positions that are going to pay you to work from home on your own time. My advice would be to learn a trade or computer skill and use that from home. Heck, since your wife has experience being a day care professional, why not get certified all the way and make a business out of it? Thats what I would do because it would take the least amount of learning curve for your wife. Plus, if you put the time in and get certified, its a business that can REALLY take off.

in the end I have a feeling this is the way we'll go, it will aloow her to spend time with out kids and still earn a living. Just curious if there were any legit things going since the last time I looked into it.

This is correct...she was studying to be an RN, but kids changed the course of our lives a bit. It's an idea though...

Yes, its quite possible for someone to make money on the web, especially if they have a lot of free time.

For instance, if she's certified in day-care she could start a website giving out free tips and articles and such regarding the topic. Basically what you have to do is bring traffic and use it to make some sort of income through adsense ads, affiliate programs, online store.

Even though you can make a decent income from these kind of sites, its not as easy as those obvious scam books make them out to be. It takes time to build traffic, and if you have no website development experience, then you're going to have a much harder time. These days, you need more advanced features on your site as well, such as blogging and commenting.

The best advice i can give, should she want to go this route, is install wordpress on a website, change the template around, offer a lot of good quality content to build traffic through linking and search engine traffic, then leverage that traffic to make some extra money.

But yes, there are a whole lot of legit ways to make money on the internet, and you don't have to (nor you should) sign up for any of those get rich quick schemes that plague the web.

STORY: (feel free to skip past)

My wife stays home to watch the kiddies while I work during the day. It's a great situation, because I want my kids to have family looking over them and caring for them instead of strangers. At least until they go to school.

But, we're damn near broke now lol.

Putting children in daycare is prohibitively expensive (usually $400+ per child/per month). So for my wife to get a job during the day is difficult for us because she hasn't had much on the job expeirence.

BTW, she is a certified home day care professional, and we did that for awhile in NY, but we're in FL now and would need to go through the certification process again. That usually is a pretty common idea for stay at home moms, and it is a nice way to earn a living.
