Is there any way to fix a dead pixel?

I recently got my first LCD. I got the Hanns G JW199D. There is what I think is a dead pixel towards the center. It is one pixel that is a reddish color. Is there anyway to try and fix it? I have read a couple reviews on newegg of people saying they fixed it.

You can try to very gently rub it... use something that wont muck up or scratch your screen over your finger, like a lens cloth. Give it a few small circles, and see if it help. I fixed ~3 on my GF's Samsung a year or so ago doing it.

Ok is there a program that "massages" it or is that what you where explaining?

Dead pixel? No. But the rubbing trick definitely can work for stuck pixels, which it sounds like you have (a dead pixel is black).

Ok I ended up having 2 stuck pixels, a blue and a red one. I fixed the blue one with the rubbing method. But the red one didn't work, I downloaded a video that flashes red, green, and blue and it said it might fix it but it didn't seem to. Any other suggestions?

Rubbing is what I was going to suggest.

It can take a while (even several sessions) for the rubbing trick to work, from my understanding that is. I'd heard of the program you mentioned, but reviews weren't great (people still prefer the "manual" massage). It is possible that the pixel will stay stuck, but keep trying the rubbing trick even if you only massage it a minute or two per day.
