Is there any way to have 1 PC as like a wired access point for your network?

Okay so lets say I have multiple PCs with no wireless card but my main PC does, is there any way I can lets say connect with an ethernet cable to my main PC and use it as like some sort of switch or something. If not, I can just buy USB Wifi Dongles but I would like to save some money

Thanks.

(Apologies for my presumably large amount of ignorance)

You have several PCs and one has WiFi internet, and you want share that with your other computers? Look up internet connection sharing.
If want to have your main PC be a wireless access point, that is possible as well, look up Virtual WiFi Router.

I meant like can I connect to my PC using a wired connection and then be able to access the network wirelessly from my Main PC with the other PCs connected. Cluster **** of a thing to explain but lets say my other PCs don't have wireless cards, my router is downstairs and I have no ethernet ports in my office.

Internet Connection Sharing.

What's easier is buying a wireless bridge.

What's better is buying a DDWRT compatible router and making it a wireless bridge.

As above. Just connect the LAN ports on the PCs together and enable internet connection sharing on the PC with the wireless card. It'll have to be on of course for the other machine to connect to the internet through the wireless card. I'd suggest just getting a cheap router/access point and bridging that to the wifi router you are connecting your current desktop to, and then wiring both machines in to the bridged access point/router. For $20...no need to have one machine on to connect to the internet then.

Like, no.

You can, like, maybe do something over, like, Bluetooth, but it may not, like, work.

Hope you, like, like the answer.
