My PSU has a 4+4 pin ATX 12V arrangement (Rosewill Capstone 550-M) Motherboard has an 8-pin connector (Asus Z87-Pro).
The part of the motherboard connector that is thicker for the cable to clip on to is at the center of the 8 pin connector. The clips on the 4+4 cable are at the center of each of the pairs of 4 pins, so it doesn't line up with the one on the motherboard to hold it securely.
I suspect this loose connection is causing stability issues. Is there an adapter to go from 4+4 pin to 8 pin (clipping properly on each side)? Or should I get a 4-pin to 8 pin adapter and leave the 2nd set of 4 pins disconnected?
