Is there such thing as a DVD+R double sided media(9.4 GB)?

Hi, I just got a new DVD+R drive. Is there such thing as a DVD+R double sided media(9.4 GB)? I've seen it for DVD-R, but not DVD+R. Will this double sided DVD-R media work in my DVD+R drive, do you need a special drive for this higher capacity media? Website suggestions also welcome. Thanks Psyber

Been looking for these too, even DVD-RW or DVD+RW double sided discs. Haven't been able to find any. Only thing I could find besides Pioneer and Prime Disc 1x DVD-R's are the 2x Verbatim DVD-R's.

I don't think there are any drives that will read both sides without having to flip the disc. Easier just to use 2 discs.

I believe the double sided might not actually be double sided, it's just called that because it has double capacity

most likely never, and you would without a doubt have to buy a new dvd burner that is able to focus on a single layer of that dvd, burn it, and then focus on another, and burn that. VERY HARD, and lots of money!

Well they do have dual-layered DVD-R disks unless I'm mistaken, just not for DVD+R.

Well they do have dual-layered DVD-R disks unless I'm mistaken, just not for DVD+R.

Dual-layered DVDs are not burned together, they are burned separately and then pressed together. So you will most likely never see this type of thing, but rather higher capacity DVDs (like blue ray). Search this forum, there's a lot of info about DVD +/- R/RWs.

That is double sided I layer on each side. Dual layered is a disc with 2 layers on 1 side. Like current dvd movies that you don't have to flip over.

if you want double sided, just glue 2 dvd's together, which is basically what studios do.

and aren't floppies double density? dvd's can't be made double density?

not without making incompatable with current readers/wrighters. what will proubly happen is we'll see a light increase in capacity in dvd media (like 700mb CDRs) which will hold people over till something like Blue Ray comes.
