Is this a bad monitor?

I have the ViewSonic A90f, My desktop and start menu isn't very sharp, I can see the little dots, but 3D games look fine.
Is this a bad monitor or is there a way to adjust it?
I've tried all the resalutions, right now I'm at 1024 x 768 at 100 hz.

That paticular line of Viewsonic monitors is exceedingly crappy. If this is a new monitor I would suggest taking it back, they are horrible quality. If you are stuck with it you might want to try displaymate (search for this on google) as it is the best utility out there for calibrating your monitor. If you have the option of getting a different monitor with a similar budget I would suggest the samsung 955 df monitor which can be had for $250ish, not bad for a 19inch monitor. It is hardly the best out there, but is miles ahead of the viewsonic. You can find some great deals on monitors here as well If you have the cash go sony or Eizo, Eizo being the better of the two. I'm not even sure if you were looking for a monitor, but I would suggest anything over the viewsonic you are using now.

I ended up taking it back and getting the Sony Trinitron HMD-A440

Good choice, but the Sony G400 or G420 has higher refresh rates all around and should be a bit cheaper for you. Mwave/dell has them for the best price, though you can find the G400 at Comp Usa for 500$ (ripoff). Last time I checked the G420 was 350$ at Mwave. I've had this monitor from them for 3 months now, and couldn't be happier with the quality. They shipped it to me in like 4 days on UPS ground, very suprising.
