Is this a bad motherboard?

This is kind of continuing my earlier post. I have a motherboard. I plugged in graphic card in the AGP, and connect the motherboard to a floppy drive(This drive works well on another machine). I inserted a Windows98 disk(It boots another machine well) and change the BIOS to boot from the floppy drive. I reboot the system, can hear and see the floppy drive is reading the disk. However, the system can not boot up. Only the graphic card and floppy drive connected to the motherboard(no hard drives, no CDRW or other peripherals) Accoding to the above, can I say this is a bad motherboard? Thanks a lot!

Don't forget to set Drive A: in the BIOS to 3.5" floppy and to enable
the onboard FDD controller if you haven't done so already. Or
maybe you just have the cable plugged in the wrong way...

The point I doubt the motherboard is bad is: If I turned the machine off for about a couple of hours, then the floppy drive works. After that, if I reboot again, the floppy drive fails.

How do you set the FDD controller? If I can see the floppy drive found in the BIOS, is FDD controller already enabled?

guy, check also if the board isn't being shorted......have built plenty of systems, and being such a cheap bastad...it always took me forever to mount boards because i could only use the metal plateau things to screw the board onto the cheap cases i bought....just trying to help
