I do this and never realized how it came across. I need to buy a watch now. The more i think about it, that would come across as pretty douchey.

I hate college because the kiddies feel it necessary to check their Facebook and texts every two minutes, so the teachers feel the need to jump on them every time they see it. But if you wanna check your time you look like an asshole or slacker, and the teacher stops class for a minute to embarrass you.
Thats why I got a watch.

Do people not realize watches are also jewelry? It isn't always about telling time. People spend thousands on diamond earrings, necklaces, and even tattoos. Those things do absolutely nothing.

I have several watches. Some of them cost close to $4K (Tag Hauer), some of them are a $500 watch (Tissot), and my every day wear are around $150 (citizen).

If you like watches, cool. If you like jewelry, great. But don't fool yourselves and say "My Casio watch tells time for $10!" It sure does, and your velcro wallet holds money just the same as a leather one.

Stop being a cheapskate and get a Patek Philippe already.

Those are some great watches. $5K on my wrist is one thing...I'm not sure I'm ready for $50K on my wrist...maybe if I was a multi-millionaire and independently wealthy...

I love citizen watches.

Watches can also be handy for brushing people off. Nothing says "I don't have time for this shit" like repeatedly looking at your watch when someone is talking to you.

My watch was a little under 500. I love it to death though and wear it every day:

I'm not a fan of non-mechanical watches. Seeing the craftmanship put into a nice watch makes it worth it. A sweeping second hand on a mechanical/automatic watch = fap.

Only 99%'ers wear quartz.

Ooo, pretty. Unfortunately slightly too large for my tiny wrist, and is also apparently discontinued.

I've never seen the skeleton up by the 12.

I thought it was kinda huge at first too as my wrist is pretty small too(2"-2.25" or so wide), but it's not super flashy and sits really well. The tiny blue screws in it are subtle but really look great.

I also see there is a mint one on e-bay though.

Bulava's Accutron Kirkwood line has some of the best brown watches I've seen:

I recommended this one to a co-worker(a fan of brown), but he's being a tightwad about it:
