Looked staged to me...

Why didn't he film when the uniforms showed up?

I don't know any cop who would respond with "I'm da pooooeee leece".

Apparently this guy's name is "Xstrav" and we are supposed to know who he is?

Guy wanted attention... he got it.

Both Cops should be fired and imprisoned.

That cop was being a dick. Somebody needs to tell the police it's ok to be wrong about something. So he checked to make sure they weren't drinking in public. That's fine, he's doing his job. Is it impossible for him to say something like "thank you for your cooperation" and get out of there without it turning into a scene? Why does he have to dig in?

Most police I have known are lacking in humility, big time.

I got into a argument here wih a cop. something happened and the cops fucked up. they refused to apologize and the cop here said no they shouldn't. It was a eye opener.

The cop fucks up and they refuse to apologize and its ok with cops.

the first cop should be fired. he made a mistake and instead of again apologizing he had to show he was the boss. hope the guy who is arrested gets that tape and sues the shit out of them.

Seems like the cop was being a dick, but why is that guy hanging out in a liquor store parking lot blasting music from his car? I wouldn't that guy in front of my store either.

I didn't see the vid.

Cops should apologize when necessary.

I presume that they don't, that they've been hardened against it because we all know that 99% of the people they deal with, outside of traffic accidents, are scum bags who need to be pressed into submission. You cannot give an inch because they'll take a mile, that's the reality of the people who cops deal with and why they have a mindset of always being right, because most of the time they probably are. It's also why being a cop in general probably sucks. You just get worn down dealing with shit bags all day long.

The music was added to the video.

I agree with that, IF the store owner requested the police remove him. Of course the cop should have identified himself immediately, stated the property owner wants him gone, and then asked questions about what he was drinking IF he had a reasonable suspicion it was alcohol. The civilian in the video may be a jackass, but said jackass was never informed that the property owner actually wanted him gone. Sorta seemed like the douchebag cop was making up a reason to arrest him.

How can they make a trespassing charge stick? Loitering, MAYBE, but not trespassing.

That's pretty much it, combined with a very deep-set culture of 'us vs them'. And whether or not they even realize it as individuals, the 'them' is not criminals, it's everyone who isn't a cop.

I'll throw this out there. Where I live, police are often given the power to tell anyone to leave liquor stores, gas stations, etc. They are given this power by the owners, so that people hanging out that they don't want can be told to leave and if they don't arrested.

I think there's something in the law that an employee can't order someone to leave as it's not their property. so they came up with this .

this would give him the authority to order him to leave and if he did not leave he could be arrested for trespassing.

IANAL

lol wtf, plainclothes walks up demanding to hand over the drink. He didn't even identify himself until he was asked and even then he didn't show a badge.

Just cops being cops. At least he'll get a nice settlement out of it if he plays it right.
