Question Is This At All Possible?

I just have been wondering..

Can you take a Beelink SER7, for example, and take it out of its casing, and put it into an itx/matx/atx computer case?

I know the screws would probably not line up, but can be easily fixed.

I never seen anyone do it, and I'm just wondering. Can this be done?

Why would you want to? Defeats the entire purpose of a mini PC. I doubt it can be done, since the ALL the ports are in fixed positions.

If you want an ITX system, just build one. Cheaper too.

Just wanted to know if it is at all possible. Not that it's practicable.

You could make an acrylic plate, and insert it into the case and cut holes in it to match the motherboard's pinouts.

Actually, mini-pcs are cheaper than the itx computers. You need motherboard, CPU, RAM, Case, PSU, GPU if needed (currently there's no GPU on the CPU on Ryzen 7000th gen)

Something else to consider is that you might have to come up with some sort of CPU/GPU heatsink if the case on the mini PC provides passive cooling.

Also, Ryzen 7000 processors do have an igpu.

https://www.amazon.com/Beelink-Computer-Desktop-Display-2-5Gbps/dp/B0CH7X9QHW $729. And it.s basically a Notebook CPU and motherboard. Ryzen 7's do have a GPU. And you are still buying a case.

I can build cheaper than that.

Most mini-pcs, and I said MOST, have a fan function implemented already.

Oh, I forgot about the 7950X and the 7600X. My mistake.

Cheepest I found it on Aliexpress:

Most want around $690. And a good chance of losing it all...

If you don't think you can build a budget Ryzen 7000 for less than $600, let alone $700, I can't help you.

Good luck.

Yeah, I'm aware. Thanks

I looked on Newegg, and I can pick a system with motherboard/CPU/RAM/heatsink 7000 system for $538.

If I choose this case with case/shell/fpsu/pci-e-riser it will come out to being $235.

That will come out to be ~$770

Or $835 if you put the mini PC in that case. And it will be less powerfull.

Good luck.

That's a Mini-ITX case, not a small mini-pc board.
I'm confused, I thought you wanted to put a Beelink ser7, in an itx, or atx case? So wouldn't it be $600 + $235?
Or would you only use that case for your building is more expensive point? Pick a cheaper case, not many budget builds with $235 cases.

I'm just comparing the two. Would an ITX system work better than a mini-pc? Cost wise. Not looking at performance.

That $235 isn't only the case.. It includes a shell, FSP 500W power supply and a pci-e riser card. The case alone is like ~$90.
ALL 7000 series have igpus.
Yeah..
