Is this bad?

I've got an Inwin S500 case. I have a globalwin FDP32 cooler on my celeron2 cpu. anyway my question is, I had to remove the powersupply to get the heatsink to fit, and now it's jammed up against the side of the powersuppy (firm contact). Will the heat from the powersupply transfer to the heatsink, worsening my cpu cooling?

does not sound good. i had a case that had a bad power supply location too,about 1/16" to the chip. had to remove ps just to install the chip with the cooler.
anyway cut out the back of the case sae size as the power supply and mounted it 3/4 of the way out the back. clears everything now.

Yes, I would say it is not a good thing. Power supplies do generate heat, and since there is a direct connection, will transfer that heat to your heatsink. It also defeats the purpose of airflow through the heatsink to dissapate the heat from it.

No to mention vibration from the powersupply to delicate cpu chips.

Not to mention the fact that you ground your heatsink when it's touching the case, any leak of power to ground will go into your CPU
