I'm giving up on this: put together a system on a KA266, new power supply 350w, matrox g450 video card; when I powered up the green motherboard led turned on, the fans turned on, the Hard drive cranked up, the floppy light when on for a few seconds, but nothing on the monitor, and the keyboard lights didn't flicker on and no beeping sound.

I checked everything, unplugged everything but the cpu, fans, video card and ram (which I pulled out and replaced in their slots); still no beep no picture.

I would think if it was the video card there would at least be a beep, right? So it must be the motherboard??? Can anyone confirm this so when I call the vendor I might be able to make some sense. Thanks.

I had a similar problem with my motherboard. It is probably the motherboard but you should try another video card just in case. Usually though as you said it will beep if there is no vid card or some error with the video.

Clay:
Take out the video card, memory and unplug all the floppies and HD's Unplug the power supply from the MB and Reset the BIOS. Plug the PS back on the MB and nothing else power up, you should get bios beeps.

Just about forgot--no keyboard or mouse either. It might be the CPU also

Bleep,

Thanks for the advice. I took everything out except fan and cpu and p/s, still no beep. I'm replacing the motherboard, but crossing my fingers it's not the cpu. Is there anyway to know if it could be the cpu???

Thanks.

Try the CPU in a different motherboard...that's about the only way to really know.

I have the same problem with this graphics card on an A7V133 revision 1.05 (1.04 works ok). The card works on other boards. Don't know why yet.

I have a similar experience with this, which the cpu burned itself and the mobo. Nothing show up, no beep or anything.

btw, it's a socket A.
