my friend linked me to this. i've been considering the Asus 1000HE at zipzoom. cause for concern: refurb, tigerdirect.

Assuming it's in decent shape, these aren't bad netbooks. OF course, they aren't as good as the asus 1000he in terms of keyboard and battery life. I also absolutely hate the mouse button placement on these things.

I was thinking about this one for my girlfriend, but the refurb thing has me a bit worried too, even anybody might luck out and just get a previously opened item that they have to reclassify as "refurb". I haven't had any issues with three or four refurb items from TD before, but it was simpler stuff (Harmony remote, gaming mouse, etc...).

They do give you a 3Mo Parts/Labor warranty actually through Acer, but I can't find anything about extended warranties. Anybody know if Squaretrade or similar companies might warranty an item like this? TD doesn't let you pay with PayPal, to the best of my knowledge.

I have one of these I bought new for $350 and I love it. I almost never go anywhere without it.
