i have never heard of a major company like adobe or Microsoft allowing you to use their product without a license, even if it is for personal use. Especially MS.

What software publisher desires you NOT to register? Sounds very much like a tip off that these are at best hacked versions, and in any case I would not go near that vendor.

The fact that you can't register could be a big warning signal, or it could simply mean you don't get a license. Afterall, without a license you can't reigster anyway. They may simply be stating it as fact, not as a requirement.

I'd call Adobe or MS first to see if they know what's going on.

Some one just forwarded a link for office 2003 to me here at work. They'd been talking about the great deal they got on adobe creative suite from some download site, but I'd basically just ignored them because I had other things to do. The forwarded email they sent was basically just like this kind of stuff, the address was 101warez.com or something. I'm glad we spent company money on pirated software. I could have downloaded this sh|t off kazaa for free if we wanted illegal software.

Uh yeah I think this is illegal. But I got XP Pro and Office 2003 Pro from my college's bookstore for $10 a piece! but you can only buy once

having multiple copies of student versions is still violating the EULA, but MS is probably going to overlook that when you have sites like this.

My undesrstanding when I bought it - what I was told - is that students can keep it but faculty must return the software.
