I have a
friend in canada that needed a monitor.
She has windows 10 and an nvidia 980ti video card but stuck on an old 24" 1080p monitor.
I had an old qnix 27" 2560:1440 144hz monitor that worked great so I sent it to her.
it came with a dual link dvi cable but I never used it, I had a couple I was using already.
She got the monitor and plugged it up.
this is what she sees.

with the monitor sitting with nothing but power plugged into it it is full screen red, green, red cycling.
she can't get nvidia control panel to pop up to see what it says because with both monitors plugged in when she opens anything it defaults to the big monitor and with that pattern she can't see anything.
I thought either the cable or the monitor was bad....ups shipping. She says the box doesn't have a dent in it, looks perfect.
maybe a driver that is wrong but she can't get to the device manager because its on the unusable monitor.
Anyone got any ideas how to get the old monitor to be the main, when nvidia and/or windows always forces the new on to be.
I hate to say it but I am thinking the monitor got dropped and is now dead but unsure.
