Is this right?

So, I graduated in May with a 3.8 GPA in Computer Science. I have experience with Linux, C/C++, etc. and I've yet to find a job. My resume is up on all the job sites, I've applied to countless jobs, and nada... Something seems wrong to me... Is the economy *that* bad?

Depends on where you are. What metro area are you looking in? I've seen a lot of jobs here in the Seattle area that would seem to suit a CS major in my search for Finance jobs.

the economy isn't bad, i find a lot of people who refuse a lot of jobs because they are picky. or the people that are doing the hiring are looking for more than just a degree.

work experience - mostly consulting... also ran a small company that earned me enough cash for college.

one that will pay me a salary that will allow me to rent a 1 br apt. and one that includes health insurance

im in the same boat as you i have a BS in Physics 3.4 GPA and i cant find a job either

i have allplied everyhere even placers liek best buy, blockbuster and teh local supermarket yet no job

and i really need money to pay for loans and Photo school which i will eb starting in feb

So, let me add to the question: Shouldn't I be able to get a decent job with a BS degree? (even if the CS is just an extra)

If you had a good internship or pt/ft job while in college you shouldn't have to seek an entry level position upon graduation.
