I have a strange issue. I work in the medical field and about 6 years ago I helped a friend setup a small lab. It had three computers and simple cable internet modem.
We got the computers setup with the medical software (they work better with a static IP address). We got a Linksys WRT54G2 wifi router and put DD-wrt on it.
It worked fine for about the year I worked there part time.
fast forward to a week ago and I was asked to help out. I immediately notice the DD-wrt router has been reset to defaults, including the password. I have no idea how long it was like that.
Someone has done some work there, but I'm not sure what. There are now 6 computers including one used to display about 20 security camera feeds at once all the time.
The wifi seems to work sporadically, and/or take a long time to connect.
I'm wondering if the router is getting overloaded? If I unplug the router and reconnect it seems to work better for a few minutes.
They also have people often using remote desktop to work on one of the PC's. The owner hasn't complained about issues with the hard wired computers, but he is the type to just ignore any issues unless it was totally unusable.
I'm just grasping at straws here.
