Just saw this HERE, is this what the stock heat sink and fan will be?
If so, is it as good as after market heat sinks?

Only for the K models. The fan is 92mm by the way.
But K is the model we want for gaming...right?
(Yes, still NEWBing it up here, TRYING to learn more..)

No. That's 980X's. This is SB (left):
Impressive, isn't it?
its not the fan thats bad its those crappy plastic push pins, I would never trust those pieces of crap.
Anand should've mentioned that HSF pictured isn't stock. Intel sent it to reviewers for overclocking. See here.
How on earth some of you would think Intel would be that generous is beyond me. It's a $216 CPU, you're not getting a free tower cooler with it. Not everyone will overclock a 2500K.
But like Russian said, you can do much better than stock for relatively little money.
So....when Anand and co are talking about 4.5 on "stock"...which cooler are they talking about?
i saw the heatsink on anand's review and they said 4.4 on that dinky thing.

That cooler barely cooled my Q8200 at 2.33ghz, .97V. To think it cools a new quad at 4.4ghz is flippin CRAZY!!!
They're not necessarily the same. The cooler that comes with a 2500 has a copper slug in the base, whereas the one that came with the E8400 did not. They are about the same size though, so it's still impressive.
Regarding the Intel tower cooler, silentpcreview found it obnoxiously noisy at speed.
