Is this the fastest low profile AGP card?

I need a low profile AGP videocard so I can play games on my work PC during my graveyard shift. It's a Dell Optiplex GX270, so it does have a AGP port, but it's a slim line desktop, so can only take a low profile video card. After some research, I believe I have found the fastest card I can put in this system...

Is this the fastest low profile AGP video card, or can anyone find another card that might be faster?

I can buy a low profile bracket from another company, or take the full size one and modify it to fit, so not worried about that.

I think they make 9500's low profile. That would be better than a 6200, I believe.

Edit: 256mb on that card is useless. :\

Edit 2: I don't know if this is low profile, but I think the 5700LE is better than the 6200.

I figured that with a lower power GPU, more memory would help. Sounds like you don't think that is the case here?

And I will mainly be playing RTS games, no hard core 1st person shooters or online games.

System RAM might increas performance for those RTS games.

However more Video RAM won't have an effect due to the RAM's slow speed. The RAM speed can't possibly move 256MB in time to have playable frame rates, therefore, lot's of slow RAM is just plain stupid. It's all marketing my friend.

Not true, a stock 9550 is the same as a 9250.
a 9550 is a 9600Pro downclocked, so potentially it could be flashed to a 9600Pro.

No. What I mean is the difference between these 2 cards...

XFX 6200 256MB for $74
Asus 6200 128MB for $68

Asus is a better brand than the XFX, and is $6 cheaper, but only comes with 128MB of RAM. Would the XFX be any faster, or is the Asus a better buy?

256mb is completly useless in such low end cards. Go with the ASUS.

EDIT: Even better, buy a cheap case and fit a full profile video card, that would really make a huge difference in performance.

The extra ram isn't going to make it any faster but it can let you get away with turning the texture detail up without suffering from swapping.

You should really test a game that cane make use of more than 128mb of vram (such as one of your favorates, CoD) with a slower card that has 256mb of ram before making such claims. I have done exactly that with a 256mb 9600, so I can say for a fact that your postion on this is wrong.
