I should have done this before the eclipse, but after using welding glass and not getting that great of an image I want to look at making a proper solar filter for my telephoto lens so I can take more solar photography. Venus transit etc could be neat to get. Looking at this:

Is $66 really what this stuff goes for is that gouging? I'm willing to pay that if it's really the going rate but just want to double check that I'm not being ripped off as it seems kinda pricy.
Open to other options too. Basically I just want to be able to safely point my camera at the sun without killing the sensor. This is not for looking through with eyes (I think this is safe for that, which probably makes it more expensive) so if there is a cheaper material that will accomplish the same thing then I'm open to suggestions.
