Do u guys trust big ben this week? Luck is on a bye. I'm considering playing w/o a qb.

My league punishes qb. 4 for passing TD. No passing yards. -1 per sack, -2 for int. And -6 for fumbles lost.

Most qb score 5 points. Great running ones get a little more.

WHYYYYYY

That sounds miserable. I heard one guy who said that a missed extra point is -100 points for the kicker in his league. So if you get extremely unlucky (because missed XPs have almost nothing to do with kicker skill; Ochocinco even made one once) you automatically lose your week.

Ben doesn't have the best matchup at Oakland but probably the best of what's available. Who else is available? I would play Ben over the next rated QB Tannehill, too many INTs/sacks for him. Is Andy Dalton available? He is getting an insane amount of time to throw on his passes due to stellar protection (2nd most among all QBs). I would choose him over both of those guys with such rules in your league.

Some interesting things to note about TRich, maybe all hope isn't lost with this guy. The Colts should make a play for a better OL before the trade deadline.

Via PFF:
Of his 14 carries, Richardson arrived at the intended point of attack to find it still viable just four times. That means that on 71.4% of his carries by the time he arrived at the hole he was supposed to hit it was already blown up! He was forced to make a cut in the backfield 10 times by defenders beating his blocking almost immediately, quickly enough that the average point at which he was forced to cut away from the intended point of attack was -2.1 yards. 2.1 yards deep in the backfield. Even counting the plays that weren’t destroyed before Richardson made it to the hole, the average point at which he was hit by a defender was just 0.8 yards down field.

The point I’m making? Richardson could be the hybrid lovechild of Adrian Peterson and Barry Sanders and he would struggle behind the blocking he saw against the Broncos.

....

Where am I going with all of this?

He may never live up to the draft picks that have already been spent on him, but it would be a mistake to write Trent Richardson off as just another guy running the football, a plodding power back with little else to his game. The Colts are giving him little to no chance at the moment, but the tape shows a guy who is making explosive moves with the ball in his hands. Only Marshawn Lynch has more than the 34 forced missed tackles Richardson has tallied this season, and there is no back in football with a significant number of carries who is making people miss at a better rate than Richardson. This is a guy who is doing his best to make things happen, but so far hasn’t been able to overcome the plays crashing down around him.

If the Colts can’t improve their O-line it may never happen, but I don’t think we can pin the blame on Richardson right now, whatever the average yards per carry is.

hopefully the bye week helps. I'm not counting on much though, and I'd bench him if I had options

Yeah, there's not much you can actually do with him. His trade value is as low as it'll ever be, and there are so many hurt or just disappointing RBs out there that there's little you can do other than keep plugging him into your lineup and hope he gets better. If you're lucky, you managed to hit on a few mid to late round RBs like Lacy or Moreno and can afford to bench him. Most likely, though, you're stuck.

Moore, easy. Both their matchups are less than ideal (Steelers for Moore, Jets for Jones), but Moore is the #1 receiver in that offense. If Jones gets a TD it's more of a fluke, he's the 2nd or 3rd option in the passing game.

Dalton was taken off the waivers. It was who I really wanted. Only people left were tannehill, ben, Freeman. No way I'm playing Eli. A friend offered me room, but he is on the no cut list. So I'll be stuck with him unless I pawn him off.

The qb isn't that big of a deal, I'm between starting or benching ben. Good thing he has a 3pm game. So I'll see how my noon guys are doing.

I benched luck the other week when I was up 30 points mainly because I saw newton get someone -20.

I love the -6 for fumbles lost and its -3 for fg missed and -1 for missed PAT. I think those are all fair. Qb yards should be counted but w/e. I got a qb with some legs. He is in the top 7 qb scoring in my league.

Freeman might be out with a concussion. Back to Ponder!

That's convenient. Wonder if it's a face saving way of the coach and team saying 'we fucked up starting him" that Freeman went along with it to avoid the embarrassment of being benched.

Via PFF:

The Colts have the same offense line that Ahmad Bradshaw and Vick Ballard had success rushing with. Even Donald Brown is rushing the ball better than Trent Richardson. Colts fans need to face the fact that Trent Richardson is not good and they got the brunt end of the trade.

If the Colts fans keep denying this then they are heading down the same road that us Saints fans did with Mark Ingram for the past 2 season. I jumped ship early on him but so many people continued to defend him an make excuses. It took the terrible game in week 2 this season for everyone to finally give up on him.

I have shitty QB options - Eli, Geno Smith and Thaddeus Lewis. I need 2 to start (2 QB league).

Eli is on the can't cut list?

Fucking Christ, your league sounds like pure suffering.

you have to start 2 of those?

Manning is a good start this week against Philly.
Geno Smith was somewhat impressive last week vs. the Pats

Should I drop Amendola and pick up Jeremy Kerley? Who has more potential upside? I have been holding on to Amendola hoping he'd make a return and connect back with Brady again. But with his latest concussion, I am doubtful he'll get much looks from Brady, esp with Gronk now back. So I am considering dropping him and picking up some other WR. Currently this is what's available in my league. Any thoughts?

Have you shopped him around for trade yet?

Oops autocorrect. Room= romo. He is on the do not cut list.

Well, I sort of disagree with can't cut lists in general, but Romo has been very good (minus the past two down weeks; makes him a buy-low candidate especially given his future schedule).

Amendola may actually play this week. And if he does, and he somehow makes it through a full game without yet another injury, he might actually be good.
