Is this the reason why there are stereotypes and biases towards women?

There are plenty of events and trends throughout history that lend prejudices towards women, but you can't point to just one and use it to justify all bias against women. If that were the case, I would argue that historically, Eve's little incident in the garden would surely be more of an impact.

For the stereotypes to be the result of women not fighting in wars, it would have meant that at one point women were allowed to fight in wars, but refused to.

At one point we didn't have modern weapons and they wouldn't last long against big cave man with a stick.

The last thing we need are a bunch of intoxicated newblars running around the forums. Herd them over to P&N and have those guys look after them for a while.

That very

I like it!

Cheers Fausto
Pat them each on the back as they enter and slap a campaign sticker on there at the same time. It'll be like putting guppies in the pirahna tank.

women have come a long way from being considered chattle (sp?) (ie, piece of property)

eventually, hopefully, there will be no more stereotypes.

The reason is because men are physically superior to women, on average. That used to be what was important. It's not really anymore, but the old ways and customs die hard. For example, the governor of the greatest state in the USA, Arnold, doesn't let his wife wear pants. WTF?

And women suck at sports. What? Someone had to say it.

While that's true, that has absolutely no bearing on whether or not they ever were expected to participate in any wars. Even in the most primitive tribes on the planet today, only the men fight in the wars. Women are expected to stay home and take care of the children while the men go off to war.

Well, I will respond in concern with the equality of men and women

If women want to *trully* be equal with men, then I say let them. However this means many things *should* happen. For instance, get rid of all womens sports, including many in the olympics, and have them compete against men in the same competitions.
