So last night a distant family member on facebook and I got into a discussion and this is what he had to say. I blanked out an offending word he used. But this appears to echo what I am hearing from a lot of the Republicans I see posting on FB today and frankly is why I think the party is screwed.

"It's cool...but fucking we are doomed..Obama is the worst president ever! He has done nothing and will continue to do nothing ...I am pissed... Ok so the only logical reason you have is Scotus.... Not that he is fucking a terrible president and is doing more damage at a time we need a leader... Someone who can cross party lines.... He can't and won't and we will not recover... This was our last chance to get rid of Obama care... We can't afford this fucking moron... 95% of ni#%ers voted for him... 63% of whites voted for Romney ... Who is the racist?... No one ... Noooo one can say he is a good president... It was a time for a change... And we missed it.... I have never been so disappointed in our country... It wasn't even the dems that got him re elected... It was the blacks the Latinos that suck off of our fucking govt and the liberals that vote party lines...I could go on and on .... I'm just so fucking angry that so many people missed it... I mean that with all due respect"

This is why Republicans are doomed to wander in the wilderness for 40 years

If leaders in the GOP are willing to disavow this kind of person they can make a comeback

That's the best part. He meant his use of the N-word with all due respect. I hope that distant relative isn't a blood one.

No he is married to my wifes cousin. I actually honestly feel bad for the guy because he absolutley believes this shit to his core. I always tell him with so many legitimate things to be upset with Obama on why does he always focus on the bullshit and smoke/mirrors crap with zero substance.

The GOP needs to be transformed drastically and kick out the religious nutbars and start going to fiscal Conservatism but I cant blame your relative for being angry

I think a big part of this election was about race. Some people are just dang ol mad that a black man is president and that colored people are getting any welfare at all.

i just don't understand how they can see republicans in congress vote no on nearly everything and then blame the democrats for not "reaching across party lines".

i mean... if you can remember all the way back to george w... democrats in congress worked with him. the government didn't suddenly grind to a halt. and that was even facing an unpopular war. but the dems STILL worked across the aisle with republicans

Obama has been the one willing to work. The republicans are the ones that say its their way or the highway. They refuse to compromise. The tax compromise Obama suggested is a good compromise. I dont see why the GOP wants to protect 1.5% of the population from a 4% marginal rate increase, when not compromising borks everyone much much harder.

It just goes to show that racism is alive and well in America. I'm not saying that every Romney vote is a racial intentions. But I wouldn't be surprised if over half of the romney camp voted because Romney is white.

Yeah that's a lot of people... It might have not been the #1 agenda but I'd put it in the top 10.

The Republicans are trying their best to make sure Obama will fail, they've said so on TV. Forget about cooperation or bipartisanship to make our country better.

I don't think thats the typical republican. I just think there is a very vocal segment that appears deranged. More are much more reserved for fear of being associated with those idiots

Trust me. Someone like that has absolutely no idea how our government even works, let alone knowing anything about voting records and fillibusters.

Enjoying the misery of others

Enjoying the misery of those who deserve misery. I'm sure there are moderate ""I didn't vote for him but he's my president, and I hope he does a good job" type Republicans that my gloating doesn't apply to, but the base of the GOP sure as hell deserves it.

They deserve to be crushed every single election; the voting public must denying their ability to govern. That's all they deserve when they put party above country.

They don't seem to understand that all their unhappiness is caused by the defacto rulers of the US, Sen. McConnell and his side kick Grover Norquist.

I would rather build a nation where you succeed or fail by your own hand than one where you take what someone else has earned and claim it as your own.

Do not forget that barely 200 years ago our forefathers bled and died to give us the right to live freely. Something which stands heads and shoulders above the rest of the world.

Remember that you have contributed to its destruction. Remember that you have hastened the collapse of one of the greatest nations on earth. Remember that you are the harbinger of the death of your very own freedom.

Author unknown:
"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years.
Great nations rise and fall. The people go from bondage to spiritual truth, to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependence, from dependence back again to bondage."
