Most people if given the choice will not purchase the DDR memory... DDR is not that much fast and cost $100s more....

With some kind of a warrenty.... Sounds about right

er, on quality memory, such as crucial, it's $2 more for DDR. rambus is about about 2x as expensive as DDR though...

In order to justify 1300 for that system, you'll most likely need to include the following
1. PCI sound card - sb live value is the bare minimum for your target audience, onboard just won't do
2. Keyboard - microsoft pro or logitech cordless - no generics
3. Mouse - microsoft intellimouse optical/logitech optical mouseman/ or equivalent - no generic 2 buttom mice
4. Misc - always good to throw in a company logo mousepad
5. Make sure you include a software dvd decoder if the vid card doesn't provide one
6. Falcon-NW and Alienware both use semi-exotic cases - a stock 7237 is good but a little too generic for your needs

For those of you who missed it. That is a friend of mine's site. He is trying to start a computer business. I'm not dumb. I know its over priced. I just want some opinions.

Well, I don't think your friend is going to be in the computer business for long. Look at his 'value system'. A Duron 800 with an FIC-AZ11, not even the newer overclockable board, for $750. You could build a better system with a monitor for that price. And Joe Blow who doesn't know jack about computers will probably just buy an emachines or a Dell. His site doesn't inspire confidence and the market is just too competitive for him to be a success IM not so HO.

Yup I agree with you Vyle.

Why would someone buy from you when they could buy from Dell? Sure you may say because it has higher quality components, but the people who are looking for those higher quality components would much rather build the computer themselves.
