Is Trillian 3.1 a good IM program? It works across platform, meaning different IM programs. The reason I'm asking if its anygood is because it is free. Is it spyware, adware or malware?
I like trillian, and have been using it for a while now.
only gripe is the lack of updates, and that the pro version purchase is only good for a year; I'd definetly pay for Trillian Pro if it was a "buy once and use it forever" deal.
So I installed it now and I'm looking it over. It says "disconnected" and I'm unsure how to get it to connect. I have been looking the program over and it appears that you can communicate by voice with headphones and a mic. Am I correct?
Kriz, I'm a software junky. But I wouldn't buy it either for a yearly rebilling.
I don't use IM software very much, but Miranda is my software of choice. It takes up minimal resources, has a simple interface, and huge community support for plugins, icons, themes, etc.
It is ok. My big sticking point with trillian and GAIM is the lack of file transfer for Yahoo. They just don't work, the lack of updates over this issue has really turned me off from Trillian. I still use it for AIM and MSN connection, but only because I don't really have many contacts on those networks. Most of my contacts are on Yahoo, I just use the regular yahoo client, and don't have as many problems as I did when I used Trillian.
