No no no. Read carefully, the article is explaining a disorder caused BY having a longer second toe, not the longer toe itself. Here is a better explanation. The longer toe thing is actually genetic and if I remember right its a dominent gene. Same thing as attached earlobes, hitch-hiker thumb and rolling your tounge.

I heard it called greek foot.... esp since all 3 types are found in my close relatives.... in my case my big toe is longer than my 2nd...
some info about the 3 foot types
clarifications about Morton's toe says you don't necessarily need to have a longer second toe to have Morton's... its a longer 2nd metatarsal (or short first metatarsal)...

this small survey puts it at about 1/9 for men and 1/15 for women.... but its a really small sample....
