nothing like that where I work.

My computer has a slower processor than where I work, but I have far more memory and hard drive storage, plus a video card rather than integrated graphics... and my cable internet access is much faster than the bandwidth I'm allowed after whatever the school gets is split over several hundred computers. - slow enough that we're not supposed to use any video streaming.

I hate those Sun servers that have no video. it's really fun when they crash and you have no clue what's wrong with them, because there's no video

heck no! ...and when they get close to being as powerful, then its time for me to upgrade. (but really, some of the computers we are using are still in the PIII 500 range, so I've got a LOT of breathing room)

you tell me

home computer:
athlon xp @ 2ghz (reaches a bit north of 2.3 before something craps out... probably the ram, maybe the board)
1 gig ram
radeon 9800 pro
santa cruz
1 200 gig seagate, 1 160 gig seagate, 1 80 gig seagate

school computer:
dell 600m
1.4 ghz pentium m
1 gig ram
radeon 9000 64 meg
40 gig 5400 rpm

yes, it doesn't game as fast as the big desktop... then again, the school computer weighs about 6 lbs and can last a 10 hour transatlantic flight on the batteries i have for it, whereas the desktop + monitors weighs well over 100 lbs and barely lasts 10 minutes on its UPS

Nope. P3 1Ghz, 640Mb RAM (I use VMWare quite a lot), crappy 40Gb Seagate 5400rpm hard disk, 8x half-broken CD burner.

Home machine is a 2600+ @ 2.2Ghz, 1Gb RAM, 320Gb over two disks, 9600 Pro, 4x Pioneer DVD-R, etc.

I just got a brand new Compaq/HP and my old Barton 2500 rig still spanks it. Hah!

Though my work laptop is better than my personal laptop. Only cuz I have no reason to spend my money to upgrade it when I'll never use it as long as I have the one from work.

Hmm, I have a IBM T41p laptop at work, and a... well IBM T41p at home. So... no, or yes... or well, hmm. We need more options, like "Same".

Since my rig at is also mine, it is slight better than my home machine. My rig at home has a 9800Pro vs the 5900nu at work.

No.

Work PC:
PIII 933Mhz
512MB PC133 SDRAM
GeForce 4MX 440 video card

Home PC:
Athlon 64 3000+
1GB PC3200 DDR (2x512)
ATi Radeon 9800 Pro

My home pc kicks the ass of my work pc.. but my work pc is sufficient for what I do.

My work laptop and desktop are both less powerful than my home computer...although they are both decent machines (P4s with 512MB+ of memory).
