Also, they're dropping the "Iraq and the Levant" bit from their name. They are now just Islamic State.

Abu Mohammed al-Adnani, an Isis spokesman, defined the Islamic state's territory as running from northern Syria to the Iraqi province of Diyala north-east of Baghdad, a vast stretch of land straddling the border that is already largely under Isis control. He also said that with the establishment of the caliphate, the group was changing its name to the Islamic State, dropping the mention of Iraq and the Levant.

"The legality of all emirates, groups, states and organisations becomes null by the expansion of the caliph's authority and the arrival of its troops to their areas," he said in an audio statement posted online, AP reported. "Listen to your caliph and obey him. Support your state, which grows every day."

Adnani said the group's chief, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, is the leader of the new caliphate and called on Muslims everywhere, not just those in areas under the organisation's control, to swear loyalty to him.

Also includes territory from China, Russia, Ukraine, and the NATO member states Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary... Yeah good luck with that. Any evidence that map isn't a fake?

EDIT: Though speaking of NATO member states, the closest one would be Turkey. The moment IS tried it on with Turkey that would invoke Article 5, and bring the entirety of NATO down on them.

That is what I am thinking.

Well, you do realize that The Islamic nations are not all that united. I really doubt that Iran, and it's allies, want to go groveling to the new ISIS caliphate. And I'm not so sure that the Saudi royalty will just fall in line either.

Exactly.

As soon as this isis moves past the borders of Iraq and into Kuwait or Saudi Arabia, markets and oil supplies all over the world will be shaken. There will have to be some kind of military action if isis moves into any of the major oil producing nations.

The question is, does obama have the leadership qualities needed to lead the nation like what george sr did? Or will obama sit on his hands and talk? obama is a community organizer, and not a true leader. Isis does not want to talk, there is nothing obama has to bargain with.

If the isis goes north, nato will take action.

If isis goes south, they will face Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. As an ally the US will have to come to the aid of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

If isis goes west they face israel and egypt. We will have to respond to any attack on Israel.

If isis goes east they will face Iran and Pakistan.

In my opinion the very worst case situation is isis moves south into Kuwait. Obama does not have the leadership skills to handle such a situation. The world markets will be shaken, obama will have no idea what to do, the world looses faith in the US as a world leader.

This isis event just happens to be occurring when we have a pro-Islamic president in office.

obama sent weapons to egypt.

obama eased trade sanctions on iran.

obama has snubbed and isolated Israel.

My opinion, the best move for isis is to invade Pakistan and overthrow the existing government. Seize the nukes Pakistan has, then use those nukes on nations who resist.
