Pretty messed up stuff, I hope Egypt throws something into the fight because of this. It is crazy to me to see these people marching around Libya like they own the place. They are getting more brutal by the minute.

There are lots of people who want you to believe that the majority of Muslims hate Amurica because of our freedoms and shopping malls, but most Muslims aren't out killing, aren't out supporting it, or applauding it in the streets.

I'm not sure why every Muslim is supposed to write a letter to US newspapers condemning every act of terrorism. All Americans aren't writing letters to their local newspaper condemning the droning of wedding parties, or cops shooting people to death. Should I assume that all Americans support those actions?

I remember in 2011, when the uprising was really gathering steam and Obama was threatening to depose Bashar al Assad, there was this kid on my FB feed who was always posting stuff in support of the Revolution. A white kid, Jewish no less... and I asked him why he supported the Rebels. His reasoning was basically that he had read about Hama and watched a bunch of news reports on how awful Bashar was. I got into several arguments with this kid, because my position at the time was that we had no business messing with Syria one way or another. I wonder what his opinion is now?

The rebels wanted to impose Sharia law from the start, they made no bones about it. And they got more and more extreme as time went by. Now they are clearly totally desperate to strike some blow against the west. I wonder when they will attack that Marine base? It would seem to me to be suicide, but they seem ok with that, I guess.


If I was ISIS, I would not attack the marines directly. I would do some kind of diversionary attack and then ambush them with IEDs as they moved to intercept that attack, and if they can get their fighters within 50M of the Marines it will be very hard to call air support. They really can't win this any other way.

You are in the military, the US military. You know as well as I that our forces aren't invincible. You have superior training, tactics, and weapons... but that does not necessarily mean they can't win a battle.


Now, certainly, they would all be killed one way or another (by more Americans coming to their rescue by air and probably land too). I just mean the initial attack could be very successful. This is ISIL, not "ISIS" .... they are the top notch fighters for the islamic state. They are former Al Queda...
