On 19 December 2023, between 2000 and 2300 hours, IDF reportedly surrounded and raided Al Awda building, also known as the “Annan building”, in Al Remal neighborhood, Gaza City, where three related families were sheltering in addition to Annan family.

According to witness accounts circulated by media sources and Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, while in control of the building and the civilians sheltering there, the IDF allegedly separated the men from the women and children, and then shot and killed at least 11 of the men, mostly aged in their late 20’s and early 30’s, in front of their family members.

The IDF then allegedly ordered the women and children into a room, and either shot at them or threw a grenade into the room, reportedly seriously injuring some of them, including an infant and a child. OHCHR has confirmed the killings at Al Awdabuilding, although the details and circumstances of the killings are still under verification. IDF has not released any information on the incident.

More of 'saying the quiet part' out loud. Geez. Not that it isn't already evident what their intent is. They are 'culling the herd'. Who are the first to die, they young (bye, bye future) and the old (bye, bye past and past memories). This is a particularly grotesque line of thinking. All wars are terrible - but current and former Israeli officials, from all appearances, are revealing a plan to exterminate as many Palestinians as they can as quickly as they can before the international community can stand for it now more.

No water an electricity because HAMAS will benefit from it - utter BS. No aid trucks because it's too dangerous and HAMAS will benefit from it - more BS. I wish somebody with some clout would start a march on Washington - I'd go if I'm available. I think Biden is between a rock and a hard place right now - but he's got to do the right thing anyway and stop vetoing UN SC votes.

-I don't see how this changes anything about much of anything.

Hamas (and especially the fighters that conducted this attack and/or planned the raid) are some bad dudes, Israel (especially the uniformed individuals conducting attacks in Gaza/WB as well as the people planning them) are some bad dudes.

Civilians on either side who suffer the consequences, regardless of their beliefs on the conflict, will make sure this conflict goes into perpetuity.

The comments at that article were also remarkably measured, as far as I read.

Investigators with Israel’s top national police unit, Lahav 433, have been steadily gathering evidence but they have not put a number on how many women were raped

The Israeli authorities have no shortage of video evidence from the Oct. 7 attacks. They have gathered hours of footage from Hamas body cameras, dashcams, security cameras and mobile phones showing Hamas terrorists killing civilians and many images of mutilated bodies.

But Moshe Fintzy, a deputy superintendent and senior spokesman of Israel’s national police, said, “We have zero autopsies, zero,” making an O with his right hand.

Isn't it weird how that every time (or at least very often) that a piece about horrifying Hamas is published, that specifics take a back seat to evocative imagery and anonymous accounts?

While I have no doubt that Hamas operatives raped and pillaged - and I condemn that behaviour - one of the original accusations about their behaviour was that this was part of the official plan, ie. part of a co-ordinated terror strategy, which there appears to be no evidence to support.

Here's some food for thought - the figures about the number of Gazans indiscriminately killed by Israel are something like 20,000 IIRC (at least that was the figure from a few weeks ago?). There's footage of Gazans being told to strip and pose for the IDF. Given that rape and pillaging often go hand-in-hand with war and especially so when conflict happens in heavily built-up civilian areas, how many do people here suppose have been raped/tortured/killed for the amusement of IDF soldiers?

i see they are using ZAKA as a source, same people that started the 40 beheaded babies lies, it's also interesting how much they are against independent investigation of these claims. There's a lot of suspect testimony and third party claims...lotsa idf says, Israeli spokesman says....very few names attached to the claims. I do agree with mikeymikec in that rapes most definitely occurred, and hamas are not good guys, but the narrative of planned mass rapes is a false one.

The rape scenes being described are horrific. But Israeli authorities have made it very difficult with their constant lies for us to know what to believe. Any info on what took them 8 hours to mobilize their forces? Having a concert without heavy security and they thought it couldn't become a target for Hamas? They basically let it happen. It all sounds like an elaborate ruse to let them kill Gazans.

I wouldn't put it past Netanyahu to have planned it. There are probably enough hateful people in his government and the military to never say a word about what really went on behind the scenes and if they actually plotted the whole thing. There's just too many loose ends. Who's to say that Hamas isn't a bunch of mercs paid by the Israelis to keep tensions high and give Israel the perfect excuse to cleanse the entire land so not a single non-Jewish Arab remains?

Both sidesing any with no evidence? Hamas soldiers stripped to underwear hide no guns, etc. Evidence of rape of those guys by IDF AFAIK completely lacking. And your figures for Palestinian dead are from the Palestinian Health Ministry, who have a terrible track record of truthfulness. As well, Hamas denials are worthless. You're on shaky ground.
