Another State Dept official resigns over Biden's Gaza policy...

"For the past year, I worked for the office devoted to promoting human rights in the Middle East. I believe strongly in the mission and in the important work of that office. However, as a representative of a government that is directly enabling what the International Court of Justice has said could plausibly be a genocide in Gaza, such work has become almost impossible. Unable to serve an administration that enables such atrocities, I have decided to resign from my position at the Department of State.

Whatever credibility the United States had as an advocate for human rights has almost entirely vanished since the war began..."

I mean I'd argue our policy is pretty bipolar. The US champions human rights except when it doesn't. We topple governments and organize coups, invade other countries, and are the biggest arms dealer in the world.

I think the muted response from the administration is due to the unfortunate political reality of a huge chunk of the US electorate blindly supports Israel. Biden putting too much pressure on Israel now is almost assuredly going to cost votes - meaningful ones too.

Tbh, I dont think "a huge chunk of the US electorate blindly supports Israel" to the point it would sway their vote in a presidential election. Unless they were Christian Zionists who believe in biblical prophecy or committed Zionists who care more about Israel than their own country, ie, Ben Shapiro and his ilk.

The Lobby though can have a huge impact on prediential elections by media influence and funding candidates who support Israel the most. Which of course extends to most of congress and ensuring that they could block or support whatever presidential actions may help or hinder Israeli goals regardless of whoever the president could be.

Anatomy of a Genocide – Report of the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967 to Human Rights Council – Advance unedited version..

The Biden admin are already using the "anti-semite" canard agsint its author, Francesca Albanese.

Good insight into the report here. I think because it makes the Biden admin looks so bad they cant help but come out with cheap shots vs its author to deflect from its impact.

IMO it's simpler than that: human rights are good but business is better. The US/UK wants to sell arms up to a point that it looks excessively politically bad (e.g. to King "I rape the babies of my genocide victims" The Third).

Rather like that quote from the Godfather during the meeting with the five families, talking about controlling the drug trade because it's politically unpopular:

"Don Zaluchi: I don't want it near schools! I don't want it sold to children! That's an infamia. In my city, we would keep the traffic in the dark people, the coloreds. They're animals anyway, so let them lose their souls."

In the book there's a following line (the thoughts of whoever the Mafioso narrator is, I don't recall) along the lines of, "Why would we sell it to kids? Where would they get the money?".

In a boxing ring the person with the best physical condition and the best boxing skills is likely to win. In an environment willed with aggressive nations that are willing to use force to win I would bet that the force their targets can bring to the table to resist is something aggressors factor in.

For these reasons I do not see the fact that the US is well armed and willing to arm allies can in itself be said to be a bad thing. The moral questions lie elsewhere I think than in how many weapons you produce. How they are used is more to the point, I think.

US Has Signed off on More Bombs and Warplanes for Israel, Washington Post Reports

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States in recent days authorized the transfer of billions of dollars worth of bombs and fighter jets to Israel even as it publicly expresses concerns about an anticipated military offensive in Rafah, the Washington Post reported on Friday.

The new arms packages include more than 1,800 MK84 2,000-pound bombs and 500 MK82 500-pound bombs, the newspaper said, citing Pentagon and State Department officials familiar with the matter...

Rare instance of US Senator with balls saying this.

Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) ripped into Israel’s allegations that the U.N.’s Palestinian refugee agency, commonly referred to as UNRWA, is a proxy for the Palestinian militant group Hamas, arguing the accusations are an attempt by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to eliminate the agency.

“There’s no doubt that the claim that Prime Minister Netanyahu and others are making, that somehow UNRWA is a proxy for Hamas, are just flat-out lies,” Van Hollen said Sunday in an interview on CBS News’s “Face the Nation.”...

To be fair, that only makes us as guilty as the countries supplying Russia. Which is a great number.

I find the use of the word ‘fair’ instead of say, ‘equally applicable’ to two hideous facts imparts the sense you are attempting to minimize how wrong both are.

I despise the fact my taxes are helping to pay for the deaths of Palestinian children. Fuck Biden on this. Obama and Clinton can fuck themselves too. Israel shouldn’t get an American dime until Netanyahu is out and negotiations for a two state solution are completed.

We should at a minimum be greatly limiting the number of Mk84s we let them have. I wouldn't be inclined to let them have any personally, they can make do with Mk82s and SDBs.

Indeed this is a pretty awful look. Biden is screwed--lose the Jewish vote, or lose a bunch of other votes. If Trump is smart he'll say nothing at all and let Biden have fun in this damn no-win situation.

Ironically, Trump will be even better for Netanyahu...we've already got at least one GOP ahole calling for nukes to hurry along the process of getting rid of the "problem"....in other words, a final solution.

The cruelty is the point

Every one of Gaza's 36 hospitals has now been destroyed. Every. Single. One.

And I'm surprised it took so long for this to happen:

Gotta keep that truth veiled and control the narrative, after all. Surprised they didn't just pass a law to allow soldiers to shoot journalists. They've been doing it anyway, right?

The Jewish vote has traditionally been liberal and overwhelmingly Dem voting over decades. Only a minority of them see Israel as a top issue that would sway their vote.

The Lobby doesnt have to rely on their vote, they just channel campaign money to whichever candidate is more pro-Zionist than the other. And their pro-Israel stance doesnt even have to be a part of their message to voters, who mostly do not care about it.

Here's Haratz archived article if you have a translation tool available : https://archive.ph/WQwru

A few minutes later, the three cars of the aid organization left the warehouse, without the truck on which the gunman was allegedly identified. According to the security sources, that person did not leave the premises of the warehouse. The cars moved on a route approved in advance by the IDF, and their journey was also coordinated with the army. At one point, while the convoy was traveling on the approved route, the HML of the unit responsible for securing the traffic route ordered the UAV operators to attack one of the vehicles with a missile.

Some of the passengers were seen getting out of the car after the missile hit and moving to one of the other two. They continued their journey and even informed those responsible for them that they had been attacked, but seconds later another missile hit their vehicle. The third car in the convoy approached them, and the passengers began to transfer into it wounded people who survived the second attack - in order to keep them away from any danger. But then a third missile was fired that hit them. All seven of the organization's volunteers were killed in the attack.

Israel, backed by America, are both genocidal countries that are now ethnically cleansing Palestinians through various ways. First, Israel/America call Palestinians terrorists for simply fighting back Israeli/American occupation and deny them any freedom to live their lives. Secondly, they have portrayed a picture that the whole conflict began on Oct 7 because they know many people, especially Americans and Westerners, are simply ignorant and don't know too much history of the conflict. This is why many Americans and Christians, etc are still supporting Israeli/American genocide of Palestinians.

The genocide by Israel/America continues despite what the American liars say - they are still sending billions of weapons to Israel to kill Palestinians while they are unfunding UNRWA. And because Israel/America are very heartless countries, they are now bombing the relief agency trying to provide Palestinians with food. Meanwhile, American liars are saying that they are going to build a port in Gaza - what an absolute joke this is! And an insult to the entire world. This port is a total joke because when it is completed, many Palestinians will have been killed through Israeli/American caused hunger.

The real goal here might be to ethnically cleanse Gaza of Palestinians and shipping them off via this port to other countries is the aim of this port. This is why Israelis are not opposing this. This means the Americans and Israelis are working together to ethnically cleanse Gaza.

Thank you America for providing Israel weapons, money and diplomatic shield so it can carry out this genocide. The world is seeing Israel/America carry out this genocide and this will not be forgotten.

This is what American weapons do:

They destroyed the largest hospital in Gaza, one that is older than Israel itself. Why? Because Israel/America say "terrorists" were there.

Now the world knows for certain that America and Israel are liars and should not be trusted. No matter if the regimes change, their foreign policy is very much disgusting and genocidal.

Message from Israel/America to the world is this:

We will starve and kill Palestinians as much as we want and if you try to feed them, we will come after you too!

Al Jazeera (which the Israelis want banned):

An investigation by Al Jazeera’s Sanad Verification Agency has found that the Israeli army attacks that killed seven people in a World Central Kitchen (WCK) aid convoy were intentional.

The Sanad investigation has found that the attacks were, in fact, intentional. Basing the research on open-source information, witness testimonies, and images from the site, a chronological and geographical timeline of the events was constructed.

WCK said in a statement on Tuesday that its workers had been leaving the Deir el-Balah warehouse after delivering 100 tonnes of food aid and that “despite coordinating movements with the [Israeli army], the convoy was hit”.

The shelling targeted three vehicles belonging to WCK, one at a time – two armoured and one unarmoured – killing seven relief workers of various nationalities, including a Palestinian driver, Saif Abu Taha, from Rafah.

Analysis of images of the second and third targeted vehicles showed signs of a projectile entering from the top and exiting through the bottom, suggesting that the cars were targeted from the air.

The Israeli army acknowledged its responsibility for the tragic incident involving the killing of relief workers in Gaza Monday night in an Israeli air raid. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the Israeli army “unintentionally” struck innocent people in Gaza.

The incident drew global condemnation. WCK said its team was travelling in a “deconflicted” area at the time. It called on Israel to stop “this indiscriminate killing” in Gaza and announced it was suspending operations in the region.

---------------------------------------------------

Unlike most Israeli/American media, Al Jazeera is actually trying to show the reality of the situation. That is why Israel wants it to be banned.
