I'll just leave these here.

The Israel Government has at least had the integrity to arrest 9 IDF soldiers accused of torturing Palestinian prisoners.
and guess what happens a mob of right wing Israeli citizens think that charging soldiers who have tortured their prisoners is wrong... or that exceptions should be made if the prisoners are taken after a Hamas attack.

They have no integrity, but were compelled to act to appear like they have integrity. They knew what was going on and would not have done anything about it had it not been for the NYT report last June that brought wider global attention to the issue which was developing into another PR disaster.

UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights just released a detailed report going back to the start of hostilities last October.

Some highlights from the report...

"The testimonies gathered by my office and other entities indicate a range of appalling acts, such as waterboarding and the release of dogs on detainees, amongst other acts, in flagrant violation of international human rights law and international humanitarian law," Volker Türk, the UN's high commissioner for human rights, said...

At the same time, the IDF started "daily mass, apparently arbitrary, arrests of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem," according to the report.

Türk, expressed serious concerns about the large number of people, including children, doctors, journalists and human rights defenders, who have been detained.

Beyond those detained in military-run detention facilities, Israel's prison service held more than 9,400 "security detainees" as of the end of June.

Some detainees said they were held in cage-like facilities, stripped naked for prolonged periods, wearing only diapers and were denied access to toilet facilities.

Their testimonies described enduring prolonged periods of blindfolding, deprivation of food, sleep and water, as well as being subjected to electric shocks and burned with cigarettes.

Some detainees said dogs were released on them, and others said they were subjected to waterboarding, or that their hands were tied, and they were suspended from the ceiling.

Some women and men also spoke of sexual and gender-based violence...

What has been known for a long time is that detainees who pose "security threats" to Israel also include activists, journalists, doctors, human rights defenders who may get word out the world as to whats going on. I think Israel considers them just as big a threat to them as Hamas.

You make a strong argument. Better for 200-300 thousand Palestinians who "unwittingly put a huge burden" (In a country of over 5 million people), some of them going back about 80 years in Lebanon (so some of them are probably third or fourth generation born in Lebanon), to go without voting rights and limited access to healthcare, education, jobs, and options to own property because it would weaken the Christian voting block and "would make Israel happy". Clearly, it's Israel "that doesn't give a rats ass about non Jews", not Lebanon who treats the Palestinians living there for more than half a century like shit including adding relatively recent legislation that only added more hardships on them.
Israel has the main responsibility for the welfare of displaced Pals, not Lebanon, which is a small country that is economically constrained and limited in what it can do for hundreds of thousands of refugees. Deflect all you want from that and throw the onus on Lebanon, but it just makes you look silly.

Is it any wonder that Israel is the way they are when this guy is meant to be their military's moral compass:

wiki said:
Later that year, more controversy arose after further comments from Krim were unearthed. Krim said women were inherently unreliable to give testimony in court, that gay people should be treated as "ill or disabled" individuals, and that Palestinian attackers should not be treated as human beings, but as "animals".

LOL, imagine excusing a country not giving basic human rights like healthcare and education for more than 75 years from a few hundred thousand people because its "economically contrained" even though it has a population of over 5 million people.

Not sure why you are making a big deal over this. I agree with Lebanon in not providing them health care. Because they dont have to when UNRWA is providing for all their health services.

With regards to UNRWA, according to the wikipedia article that I've already provided:
This reliance on healthcare and education does not guarantee that this reliance has always been visible, oftentimes UNRWA for instance was not allowed to enter certain areas, this was especially the case when tensions were high. Nonetheless, while UNRWA currently is allowed to enter inside these camps, many critique the manner in which UNRWA operates, they point out towards the lack of basic healthcare or any other form of relief inside these Palestinian camps.

However, even ignoring the above - Lebanon are also denying them rights to buy property, get into certain jobs, and getting decent education. You'd expect that if they are actually such a "heavy burden" on society, it would be in Lebanon's best interest to actually get them educated and give them access to jobs so they could pay taxes and be a productive part of the community. However, according to the wikipedia articlePalestinians cannot even work in the public services and institutions run by the government such as schools and hospitals. In addition (from the article):

Most Palestinians in Lebanon do not have Lebanese citizenship and therefore do not have Lebanese identity cards, which would entitle them to government services, such as health and education. They are also legally barred from owning property or entering a list of desirable occupations. Employment requires a government-issued work permit, and, according to the New York Times in 2011, although "Lebanon hands out and renews hundreds of thousands of work permits every year to people from Africa, Asia and other Arab countries... until now, only a handful have been given" to Palestinians.

In 2019, Minister of Labor Camille Abousleiman instituted a law that Palestinian workers must obtain a work permit, under the justification that Palestinians are foreigners in Lebanon despite their long-standing presence. Palestinians are in a 'grey area' of Lebanon's labor laws: although they are categorized as foreigners, they are excluded from the rights foreigners enjoy, and their rights as refugees are not fairly protected. The ruling catalyzed a swell of frustration and protests across the Palestinian camps in Lebanon. Activists claimed the law unfairly targeted Palestinian refugees, and would narrow down an already limited set of employment opportunities.

As opposed to...? Pals in the Occupied Territories? Who undergo systematic home demolitions, evictions, seizure of properties, draconian zoning laws and military check-points that make it exceedingly difficult to access hospitals or schools. And the stealing of their water sources (for settlers and their swimming pools) and deprivation of livelihoods, farmlands or any means of economic development for the purpose of making it so difficult to live there so as to encourage them to leave? In essence, a slow virtual ethnic cleansing that is not reported on in the MSM. And its gotten much worse since last October.

It is time to stop supporting Israel militarily in any way in my opinion. Gotta make the tough call. Hamas and Bibi to me are both war criminals at this point. We should not provide support to a war criminal.

Israel is a genocidal, criminal, war mongering, illegal and land stealing country. This is right, however, one must go more into it. This is only possible because of America and this is for multiple reasons. America is the chief sponsor, financer, arms supplier, diplomatic ally and many more for Israel. This genocide is possible because of American help of Israel. This is the main point and this is being realized by much of the world.

This is made more apparent as war criminal Netanyahu gave a speech in front of US politicians, in which he was very well received. Even Elon Musk was there - all supporting Israel's genocide it seems. But this is not a surprise as appeasing Israel is a must for success in American politics and more. American politicians are very much scared of Israel and must do everything they can to appease Israel. This is the reality of America - it is a mighty empire in some ways but it is subservient to Israel in other ways. Kind of weird, right?

So discussing this brutal genocide and a very long occupation without discussing the American role is missing the point very much. This occupation and genocide is a joint Israeli-American project. A country of 9.5 million cannot exist very long in that region against hostile neighbors without huge American support. This support comes because of many reasons, some I will mention: Christian Zionism, powerful Israeli lobbies, susceptible US lawmakers with no morals and an expansionist US foreign policy. All this and more makes it possible for US to give Israel massive support so it can not only exist but to grow and occupy more land. And of course, America helps Israel commit genocide.

Trump and many Democrats are Team Israel and this cannot be denied. They have no problems with Israel's settlements and expansion of those settlements. So when you hear US politicians talking about a two-state solution, this is pure lies and just designed to fool you. There is no two-state solution because America allows and helps Israel continue the settlements and their expansion. Even Biden and Harris, who should be more progressive, are very much scared of Israel and will not take any strong action.

This is the power of Israel. And America is totally involved in this genocide.

One thing to add to my previous post, 15% of the illegal settlers in the West Bank are American. This complicates things too but this should not be allowed by America and can easily be stopped. This won't happen because America and Israel are jointly working together to expand Israel, to genocide the Palestinians, etc.

There you have it. American settlers in Israel, brutalizing, raping, abusing and genociding.

This is with full support of America that is enabling Israel to do all this.

How American citizens are leading rise of ‘settler violence’ on Palestinian lands

Bowman and Bush also had some big "own goals" by not voting for the infrastructure bill that was passed. No one remembers why you voted "no" - they only remember you votes "no" for something that was popular and is touted as an achievement of the current administration. And it makes it easy for attack ads to flow.
