I want to point something out for anyone who might have missed it.

If you looked at the first rockets Hamas fired, you'll see that the interceptors made a beeline for them. IOW, no fancy footwork by Hamas.

But look at the more recent video. You'll see the interceptors go straight and then make a very sharp turn. I'm not an expert of course, but that says to me that the Hamas missiles are trying to actively avoid the interceptors. If that's what's going on, that is a serious escalation of their sophistication.

They are just rockets, they have no guidance system or steering ability.

I think we can more or less take Hamas at its word that they genuinely believe that ultimately the violence they carry out, that any normal person recognizes as senseless and sadomasochistic, will someday be vindicated by god allowing them to wipe Israel off the map and turning Palestine into an entirely Muslim nation. I guess if Iran wants it, it's within reach, right? lol. A knowledge that their cause is doomed, but a willingness to die for nothing greater than vengeance. I’m wondering to what degree of vengeance is the strategic aim here. There’s a lot of talk about Hamas’s long-term aims – but are we sure that’s what it’s about? Is it possible that, having been so ineffective for so long, their goal is less the establishment of a two-state solution (or even the annihilation of Israel) than it is a general blood-for-blood desire. Hamas commits unspeakable and senseless acts of terrorism in a struggle where they know they can never actually achieve their goals. Goals of extermination of a state and people the whole world abhors.

And ... Showing support for Israel does not mean someone's a "Zionist" or anti Palestine. And showing support for Palestine does not make someone anti-semitic. It's totally reasonable and LOGICAL to be opposed to the Israeli government's treatment of the Palestinian situation while at the same time calling for the protection of Jews in Israel from barbaric terrorism by whatever means necessary. You can be against the Israeli government and also be against Hamas terrorists parading dead bodies in pickup trucks while Palestinians passing by spitting on the corpse.
