This is a giant failure of Israeli intelligence that is going to need some major explaining. The lack of quick response from Israeli security forces also is a big question.

As for Hamas there is no way they pulled this off themselves. Likely parties trying to derail Israeli normalization with Saudi Arabia and the Saudi-US defense pact heavily supported if not planned this attack. Leading suspects would be Iran and Russia.

They use the same rethoric every time. I will say, though, that after the numbers today (official number is at 300 now, will be much higher) there ia a consensus to take Gaza back to the stone age.

I'd level every building for one mile, furthest from the Egyptian border.

No US tax dollars were sent to Iran.
Iranian funds frozen in South Korea were transferred to Qatar.
That money can only be spent on humanitarian supplies.
NONE of the funds have even been spent yet.

I think a few things converged and that was one of them. Another is they perceived a weakness in the defense apparatus of Israel over Bibi's fight to be able to overrule their courts. Lots of IDF protested against him remember, said they wouldn't show up.

Hamas has put an end to that spat, at least for now. I bet it's hard to care about court decisions when there's an intifada Tet going on and you've got family that isn't answering your calls.

Since no one is submitting Israelis are blameless here, it might be a better idea for you to submit what it is you think is a more appropriate reaction to the current real time slaughter of civilians.

This is more akin to Pearl Harbor, I'd say. This isn't a plane abduction terror attack. This is a multi-faceted, complex, and well-executed military attack. Probably using tunnels and drones, taking hostages back to Gaza, going house by house and murdering families etc. I've also heard some talk about Hamas operatives putting charges in the separation fence in the previous weeks, as there were some "demonstrations" near the fence.

Gaza has long been described as the world's largest prison, i have 0 fucking clue how to fucking fix a real time slaughter of 'civilians' , it's been happening to the other side for decades though with nary a whimper from most of us in the west

Can you quote one of those many posts then for me? I looked, still can't find anyone here advocating the IDF go open season on Palestinian civilians in the manner that is happening to Israeli civilians. I did see several posters, myself included, who noted in detail their concern for innocent civilians.

Can we agree if you are actively hunting Israeli citizens for either murder or kidnapping, you aren't an innocent civilian? I feel like this is an easy one

I would imagine Israel would arrange transport to other Palestinian areas. That is what the US did at Fallujah. Line them up, search them, filter out suspected militants, and the move them on ward. The US did that until the civilians stopped flowing.

Not really possible. There are ~2.4mil people inside Gaza. Fallujah had about 275K in 2011.

You are not getting that many people out before the sickle falls. You're calling for the deaths of tens of thousands, minimum.
