Biden needs to be working with other developed countries on a Marshall Plan for Palestine—and leave Bibi and his apartheid state out of it. That’s the only way Israel leaves Gaza alone at this point.
Blinken out there this week saying to questions about a ceasefire - what is the point of a ceasefire as in it would accomplish nothing.

There is no hope for Biden on this right now unfortunately.

Houthi's shot down a MQ-9 Reaper over Yemen...
Iraq:

In the last week there have been a number of harassing attacks aimed at Al-Asad Airbase, Iraq, which the US has not responded to. Mainly drone and light rocket. The lack of a US response probably indicates the US feels restraint is the best choice.

Iranian militias are only launching light very light harassment attacks in Iraq at the US base. This seems to indicate Iranian proxy in Iraq feel they lack the political capacity to directly attack US forces. They are effectively operating as criminals, attempting to avoid detection by Iraqi authorities.

This is very good news for the US position in Iraq. Iran dumped a lot of money into its proxies in Iraq, and to seem then unable to effectively expand the war in Iraq is a win at this point.

I also saw rumors Iranian associated militia's in Iraq are not interested in joining Hezbollah in Lebanon against Israel because that would put them under Hezbollah command. Regardless, we have not seen Iraqi militias moving from Iraq to engage in this conflict in any meaningful way.
also Iran is far from stable internally, they have been dealing with a lot protests, no one but the hardliners have any stomach for conflict atm

Yes and no. I don't like the existing precedent that Israel gets to wreck Gaza every decade because the Americans will pay for the rebuilding. Maybe they would stop leveling the place if they have to pay for all the damages?

(Yes because foreign aid for the truly needy is always a good thing.)

As much as Biden and Blinken are deserving of criticism, there are things afoot that we are not privy to. Plenty of back channel and cutout communication between the US, Saudi, Israel, Qatar, UAE, Egypt etc. and Hamas that has—thus far—delayed the inevitable ground assault, allowed [certain] people to flee Gaza, and seen the release of a handful of hostages. It’s also kept Hezbollah out of the fight.

Politically, I hate to admit it, but Biden could actually be net gaining support vs. losing support over backing Israel (saw one poll that showed only 13% of registered US voters back Palestinians over Israelis.) Sure that changes when you look at Arab Americans, the youth vote, etc.—but Biden’s path to reelection still relies on old white men.

Overall I’d still rate him a C- on Israel-Palestine primarily for making a trip to see Bibi while he’s on the warpath.

NPR visited with a Palestinian man kicked of his farm on the West Bank....

TLD Listen version: NPR reporters are taken by a Palestinian man to view his olive grove, which Israeli settlers have apparently seized. IDF soldiers show up, and not only "disappear" the olive grove owner for hours in front of the reporters (who are clearly wearing flak jackets with "PRESS" written on them) but even point guns at them.

Good to see Belgian deputy PM Petra De Sutter thinking enough is enough. I think only a matter of time before other EU countries begin to ponder out loud similarly.

My understanding is journalists are only protected when operating independently from an armed force.

This has huge implications.

Embedding with US forces? Your a valid target.

Embedding with Taliban? Your a valid target for US forces.

And yes, US soldiers considered anyone with a camera on the other side to be primary targets. If they could only get one guy in the enemy squad, it was going to be the guy with the camera.

Yea, the press complains about it. But everyone does it for a reason.

Netanyahu, the genocidal war criminal, says publicly a ceasefire will only happen with the release of hostages. But in negotiating room he is the one rejecting ceasefire. For the releases of hostages. But the Zionists don't care and the mainstream American media will never tell the truth.

My understanding is that netanyahu is a military special ops man prior to politics right?

to be fair, dribbling the hostages out for ceasefires is a bit silly.

Hamas should immediately release all of them immediately. Hamas should never have taken them. Any other stance is morally and ethically wrong.

Arguing otherwise is just enabling terrorism, and encouraging further events like this.

That is a spectacularly good example. And no police were ever held accountable, despite being on film.

When police start hitting journalists outside of a conflict area is when law and order has ceased to exist.

Plot twist, Republicans must become pro-muslim due to their nature forcing themselves to politicize even this.
