Ok, what we have is Israel violently boarding a ship in international waters. Thankfully no one was killed or injured. Is Israel winning yet?
Short answer, this is just getting started, and is nothing new in terms of similar human conflicts. Rome was not built in a day and did not fall in a day.
But aid ships will keep coming and keep coming. And the longer Israel tries to keep stuck on stupid, the more world anger will fall on them.
When Gandhi took on the Brits in India, it took over three years to get the Brits to leave India, when the civil rights movement started in 1954, it took a decade to get the legislation passed, and apartheid in South Africa did not end overnight either.
We can all hope progress to a just mid-east peace will be without violence, but very soon, its probable that the aids ships will be escorted by war ships from a yet to be determined set of nations. And then the only way to avoid rather deadly encounters may be to enter Gaza from Egyptian waters.
Since the USA is essentially bribing Egypt to stay Israeli cooperative, it is my best guess that its going to be Obama and Egypt who will be on the horns of a dilemma. Obama will not be able to defy world opinion by supporting Israel nor can totally Obama abandon Israel. And the least route of resistance may be to have Egypt land aid ship Aid through Egyptian ports while allowing Israelis to inspect the cargo for weapons. As for the silly Israeli restrictions on cement and chocolate, that will be the first bullshit to go.
After that the Palestinian movement will keep going, until we have a just mid-east peace. Israel got away with it for 62 years, a short time compared to the Brits in India,
Apartheid in South Africa, and Jim Crow in the USA, but the its an inevitable beginning of the end of Palestinian oppression for Israel.
