Very noble quote no doubt, the problem here is that unlike other conflicts - such as the Vietnam war for example - here the Israelis are fighting for their home and survival. This is not an optional war for them - they can not just pack up and go back to their country, 8000 miles away. And while the Palestinians can lay down their weapons and be fine, Israelis can't.

It was a CYA inspection by the soldiers to ensure that the kid was not a human bomb; I didn't see them ask him to do anything humiliating other than check for explosives. Why are Palestinians fighting? Don't say terrorism because terrorism is a result not a cause. The Palestinians are also fighting for their land and survival, more so I believe than the Israelis. Israel keeps expanding and if I were a Palestinian I would be really concerned about it. The point is you can't get people to comply with you when your simultaneously expanding while already holding their land from before.
At this point no one can pack up and leave but to coexist sacrifices have to be made from both sides.
