well from reading this forum and the Nvidia SLI forums it seems like ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe Nforce4 SLI chip is to blame
i checked my system fully made sure all was right in side the comp (wires and all makeing sure nothing was hiting anything) all checked out fine there .i got the QVL ram for this mobo now so i know its not a ram issue .i allso checked TEMPs and all checked out fine allso checked power specs to make sure all was getting the wright power "all good there
so i did a lil reading and found out the the Nforce 4 SLI in the ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe over heats and can cause Freezes or crashes or system shutdowns. so i wanted to test this and make sure it wasnt something else so i dissabled SLI fully and tried the games that where shuting down my comp.so in this test played Splinter Cell :CT for 2hrs no shutdowns (before only could play for 20 to 30 mins in SLI mode on) and played Doom3 for 3hrs no shutdowns (allso this one couldnt play more them 20 to 30 mins top without it shuting down my system with SLI on) allso setting in game 1024x768@120hz all else maxed
i need some ideas what should i do is there something i can replace the stock fan with or should i email ASUS about the prob and see what they say ? the mobo is a few months old too
ive read that most peeps took out the stock fan and replaced it with a new better fan and have had no probs with the mobo so if anybody has done this plz if u can point me to the fan u used or to a good one that will work that would b kool
