Issue with new computer

Now then, on to the problem

Issue is that I'm having problems with my downloads. This is a pain because just now I'm downloading things to reinstall them. Half of my downloads get errors when run (can't exactly remember them, but I can try and bring them up again if need be) and .RARs get end of archive among other issues.

Any help is much appreciated, would love to get this thing up and running flawlessly

Try the onboard sound. If it doesn't work you know you have a bad mobo or a rather messed up install of your OS. Either way you'll have to deal with that before you can continue with your second problem.

First issue was just fixed using Creative Diagnostics...of all things.

I suppose it was just the kX driver that was messing it up.

EDIT: To clarify some more, the errors I get on RAR files are corrupt data errors.

tried looking for newer network drivers? default ones could be causing issues. Is it always the same thing that is corrupt?

I've also seen wierdo issues like this with bad RAM.

Trying Memtest can't hurt.

I would try updated network drivers as mentioned above first, however.
