issue with online gameing

i was trying to make my own server yesterday on halo ce. my friend who lived on the same street couldnt join. we both have comcast hsi. he tried making a server and i couldnt join. for some reson the is only happening to us. before this started happening it worked fine.

You need to give a lot more information than that. "Couldn't join" is really ambiguous. Explain the steps you both took and any error messages you received.

that's pretty vague, but problems like this can be game dependant, and may be solved by you/he disabling a firewall.

basically i have tried disabling the firewalls on both of our pcs yet this problem does not only happen in halo it happens in every game that either i or my friend creates a server

are you or your friend behind a router? if you are hosting a server behind a router, you'll need to have the router set to forward a certain port to your computer. (the port depends on the game)

plug both your comps directly into your modems and try. if it works, its firewall settings, probably on the hosts end. if it doesnt work, you guys are fing up something else entirely
