Issues with Linksys Wireless B

Alright, so I upgrade my internet service, so they send me this Linksys Wireless Access point w/4 port switch (model: BEFW11S4). Not that I needed it at the time. Untill today, I got a nice shiny notebook, so now i can put this thing to use. Set everything up, had a bit of an issue getting the switch to work with my desktop, but it seemed to sort it self out.

Anyway, i had my notebook on wireless b and my desktop on ethernet. Great right? Wrong. All of a sudden i lose my connections. First my notebook says it has a connection, but interent is down and i can't seem to access the router. Go onto my desktop, same thing, connected, but can't access the router (nor internet). So i reset the router and looked at the settings on both computers to make sure it was set to what the guide says it should be. I'm at the point now were my notebook can't see any networks (on wireless) and my desktop can't connect through ethernet. (keeps connecting and disconnecting). And I have no idea what the problem can be.

If anyone could PLEASE help me out, it would be much appreciated!

What OS are you using?
Is your router set to connect to the internet correctly (either DHCP or PPPoE)?
Are you using DHCP on the computers? Is your router set to asign addresses?

Alright, I'm running XP Home on both the notebook and desktop. I used ipconfig and guess what? no ip address on my desktop. I've also got 2K, so i booted up and i can connect to the router.

So now I have no issues connecting to my router (except on my desktop when running XP) but now the WAN light is on. Neither is my ethernet light on my DSL modem.

For some reason My DSL modem isn't seeing the router. Nor is my router seeing my modem. I'm out of ideas.

Make sure you have your Router set to PPP0E and to keep the connection alive. Sounds like the router and modem aren't talking to each other.

Directly connect your PC to the DSL modem to see if you still have connection.

Set up your machines to DHCP, and set your router to DHCP server. You should still get a LAN IP addy on each machine (i.e. 192.168.1.xx. Also, make sure you enable your wireless settings in the router. Enable WEP or mac address only access for security.

Make sure you have your default gateway set to your router's address, ie 192.168.1.1. Subnet mask must be set to 255.255.255.0.
