Is anyone running 64bit and has found any issues with it, does the 32 bit applications run fine even though they get installed in x32 folder.
the adobe apps i have are in 32bit , but I heard that 64 bit is more secure and much quicker than the 32 bit.

No issues with my Vista x64,especially now I have all my drivers available .

It's normal for 32 bit applications to be installed in Program Files x86 folder, any 64 bit applications will be installed in the main Program Files folder(which is the 64 bit version).

I'm not running 64-bit, but to answer your question about the performance, 64-bit should be much quicker. I've seen some videos comparing 32-bit and 64-bit with adobe software and I was impressed.

About it being secure? I am not sure.

No issues with my Vista x64 either - drivers have been available since two weeks before RTM (and probably earlier, but that's when I got it first).

Yes I have quite a few games installed on my Vista x64,

Oblivion
Morrowind with all exp packs.
Might & Magic 8
UT2004
Vanguard
Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 with expansion packs.
UFO-Afterlight.
KOTOR
KOTOR 2(this one you have to keep clicking the exe.file but it will load and play eventually )UPDATE: Download the MS32.DLL patch for the game and you have no more problems.
Starcraft with Brood Wars exp pack
Steam(CS,TFC etc..).

I'm very much statisfied with vista 64bit . I also find that games such as Flight Simulator X loads much faster in 64bit than in 32 (with superfetch enabled ofcourse)

Working great here. Missing drivers for only 3 items (my 2 scanners and my Homer Simpson USB PlayPal). Running Vista32 in a VM for my scanners (so I put Vista on that VM as well).

Games are running fine so far albeit I'm mostly playing Supreme Commander.

I have all drivers for my Vista x64 including odd ones like my Winfast DTV USB 2.0 dongle tuner(works in Windows Media Centre too once you install the driver),ColorVison Spyder2Express USB driver to name a few .

Another thumbs up for Vista 64. One of my apps didn't like it, My Notes Keeper. It starts up and it can't read the data file. Luckily, I had just switched from KeyNote to it so I went back to KeyNote and everything is fine. I haven't installed WCIII Frozen Throne on it which is the only game I play but it sounds like it should work fine. All my other apps work beautifully:

Nero Burning Rom
Ultramon
WinRar
Deamon Tools
Media Player Classic
EmEditor (64-bit version)
Roboform
Everest, CPU-Z, SuperPi
Office 2007
Firefox 2.0.0.2
VMWare 6 Beta (5.5 does not work)

Everything else I install in VMWare. VMWare is the reason i went to Vista 64. I can finally allocate 1GB to three separate VMWare virtual machines to simulate our enterprise backend for development. I couldn't do this with XP Professional or Vista 32 without everything crawling. As for speed, Vista's experience index actually increased for the 3d-graphics benchmark. Not sure if applications are any faster but I certainly don't notice 32-bit apps being slower, even when I'm working in full screen mode inside VMWare. Mind you, I have a fast computer and 4GB memory. I'm glad to hear others are using Vista 64 to increase the demand for native 64-bit apps.

One more app that doesn't work, Unlocker. It's a security issue. I think there's a workaround but I haven't tried it yet.

I installed 64 bit no issues except no drivers for my scanner and tv tuner card . Same here I cann't tell if running 32 bit app is actually running slower .

So far, I've had an occasional bsod upon boot stating the bios isn't fully ACPI compliant. Gigabyte assures me it is. Not a big problem, as it's only occasional so far and only at bootup. It is the latest bios revision also.

Every time I shut down Farcry, get a windows message that the program ended inappropriately.

My driver for my Epson Photo 825 printer won't install. Neither will the latest driver on their website. Epson says the native driver in Vista will work...but what about the software that came with my printer? How to get that to install.

I installed the Vista x64 driver for my sound card, and it worked, but Windows won't recognize or install a driver for my gameport. Not that I use the gameport, but it's a bit annoying to see it in my hardware list with a "bad hardware" tag.

Nortons Internet Security 2005 won't install, period.

GTR2 works great, until I install the patch, then it just keeps loading the video setup screen over and over and over again. I haven't had time to submit a problem ticket for that yet.

Palm Desktop software will install, but I can't get it to hotsync with either of my Z22s.

Sims2 is the only game that lags, and it only does that when you first enter a neighborhood and it's panning the neighborhood. It always does that. I chalk it up to bad programming.

Nero 6.6 and Nero 7 Essentials won't install.

Got my printer to work, but windows autoinstall couldn't find drivers for it. I had to manually install the printer, and yes the drivers were included with Vista. Imagine that. But all the software that came with my printer I have to do without.

Guildwars won't run. Some generic render error.

I guess the biggest problem with Vista is now I don't feel much like playing games. I don't know why, maybe Vista has some subliminal thing that tells you games are baaaaad.

iTunes is a known issue... it's a no go until Apple gets their ass in gear.

Only problem I have in Vista Ultimate 64-bit is my Logitech G15 keyboard gives an LCD screen error at bootup, but still works fine. And my Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-USB2 isn't supported in Vista64 (it's the "compatible" series that only runs under 32-bit Vista).

Haven't installed Nero 7 yet. And I won't get to try my iPod with the new iTunes until the weekend.

Another :thumbsup:for a smooth transition to Vista Ultimate x64!
I installed it 2 days ago when I got my second 2GB DDR2 and have had no problems. Windows found all my hardware except for the Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility. I already had the x64 driver and a quick "update driver" took care of that. I also updated my video and sound drivers to the most current.
All the apps I use reinstalled and work fine, including Office 2007, Nero 7, NOD AV to name a few.
I reinstalled the only games I play, currently LOTR MMO and Stalker, both play the same as they did in x32
All in all a great experience so far and the 4GB DDR2 does seem to make the whole Vista package seem "snappier" .
One "nice touch" is the "Windows.old" directory which is created when you install Vista to the same drive that the previous OS is on. I already had backups of my docs, music and other stuff and a full image of my drive but it was even easier to just go to the "Windows.old" directory and take what I needed. Between that, Windows Easy Transfer, and the new Backup and Restore Center it's really easy to fresh install the OS.
