Issues With Vista64

So far its working pretty good except, I cann't get these programs to work
nero program starts to install but doesn't finish
no 64bit drivers for mce 250 (is anyone using this card with vista 64)

Regarding Nero apps,

1) check for updates from Nero.com.

2) right-click the Nero apps, choose Properties from the right-click menu, hit the Compatibility tab and set them to use WinXP SP2 mode.


Any good?

edit: ooops, I need to read more carefully, you're having installation problems Try right-clicking the installer and choosing Run As Administrator, which runs it in WinXP SP2-compatibility mode as well as at Admin level. If that does not help, download the latest version from Nero.com and try to run it, since I believe they basically have you download the whole new installer, not just a patch.

Expand the extended info for User Account Control: Admin Approval Mode for the Built-in Administrator account.

? Disabled: The Built-in Administrator will logon in XP compatible mode and run all applications by default with full administrative privilege.

Default: Disabled

As far as I can tell, that's the context used when you log on as an Admin and then choose Run As Administrator.

I did ran nero as run as admin but I get nero setup starting and nothing happens, and its version 7.8.5.0

I have Nero version 6 running on Vista 64-bit.
However, I did not install it through Vista. I had installed it through XP on my programs partition.
Now, that I am running Vista, I have access to the same programs partition.

Check your x86 Program Files Directory... You will find that Nero installed, but did not create the start program nor desktop icons. You can run it directly from the exe though.

Does anyone have any problems with using the 64bit version of vista with program not being compatibility. i will have to change over sometime and just want to know what will be better going with the 32bit or 64?

I did see nero installed in the programs x36 folder but when I click on it I get this program has known compatibility issues and when I run it nothing happens
